Brainstorming a massive plugin sale, could use some thoughts

Hi All,

June 10th is a very special day in my life. A once in a lifetime event will happen: My youngest child will go off to bootcamp and I will be completely free to go wherever and do whatever I want.

We plan to celebrate by buying some land in Arizona, but I need to generate roughly another $5000 to accomplish that goal.

So I've been brainstorming books, products, services, websites to sell, etc and it occurred to me that I could possibly reach my goals by having a massive software sale. I have a couple of premium WordPress plugins that are quite popular but they're not within the budget of some people. They're not outrageously expensive either of course, but I've been wondering if I should do a huge WSO offering them for the month of May only at steeply discounted prices.

I could do 50% off for example, or maybe the first 50 sales at 75% off then the next at 60 and so on.

I don't think I could call it a "firesale" since those seem to be packed with hundreds of products, so I'm wondering if a massive discount sale would work just as well?

I'm open to all thoughts, opinions, ideas and feedback
