Advanced Marketers Only: How Would You Set Up This Split Test?

Hey guys,

I created my own product in the fitness niche and am getting ready to run paid traffic to it. I was sending PPC traffic from Bing to my sales page, but got no sales after 250 clicks. Their $0.65 clicks were killing me, so I have a new strategy:

1). Media Buys on Adsonar
I'm going to setup a split test and send 50% of my traffic to a presell page that leads to my sales page. I'm going to send the other 50% of my traffic to a squeeze page.

Here's an example of the presell page that flows to my sales letter: The Science of Getting Ripped | Proven Diet Hacks and Workout Tricks to Burn Fat and Build Muscle in Half the Time

I may even add an optin form to the sidebar of my presell page to try to capture leads at the same time.

2). PPC from Facebook
I'm going to do the same thing as above, but this time I'll get traffic from Facebook.

3). Traffic from OutBrain.com
I'm going to send my traffic to my presell page (after I put an optin form in my sidebar) They don't allow a squeeze page, so I'll have to see how many people click from the presell to the sales page.

I plan on spending $100 on each platform, for a total of $300. I'm hoping to get a CPC of $0.35 or lower. My goal is to get a 1% conversion rate on my product. I'm not as concerned with building a list of freebie seekers as I am about a list of buyers.

I've never gotten more than a 25% optin rate from cold traffic, so if the clicks are cheap enough, I'll just go for the optin. But if it seems like people are clicking through to the sale page from the presell, and it's profitable, I'll stick with that.

Do you guys think this makes sense?

Thanks,
Raza
