Is there a hope for a newbie like me?

Hi all,

I am 41 this year, currently unable to find a suitable job. Though I have some saving but it can't last me that long. I always hope to make money online . However, I have no knowledge and always get scam by some of the scheme I bought online.

I finally decided to join this paid forum because I truly believe I can get some real help here. Could anyone advice where to start on internet marking and how? I am no good in writing and no good at video. So does that mean I really can't make it?

I also understand I need capital to start , I do have some but not much. To add on I also have no knowledge of web building. I guess the only things I have is my computer, internet, my desire , passion ,determination and my time (at least for the next 2-3mth since I am jobless)

In saying all this, will I still have hope in making money online?

(All advices and suggestions are very much appreciated)

    Yes there is certainly hope.

You have all you need already as you stated yourself: passion and determination (and a working computer) that's really all you need.

What I would do in this case is to start a blog about something you are knowledgable and passionate about. You could also start one in a high profit niche, but that also means more competition.

You can write in English and it's easy to follow so that shouldn't be a problem. If you still think you can't write well enough you can always hire somebody else to do it for you. It doesn't have to be perfect.

You will find a lot of information here on the forum about promoting your blog, I advise you take a look around. There are a lot of people here who can help you.

You don't need much investment to start, for starters just a domain name and webhosting to get your blog online.

Just be aware that it will most like take some time to get things started and to get in profit, but it can definitely be done.

    Hope that helps you,

If you have good command over English then you can become a content writer for several websites. They will pay you good.
If they found your writing skills interesting they will pay you $10-$40 for one article. I will recommend you to have a look at problogger.net. There you will find jobs for writers.
Moreover you can sell your articles on ghostbloggers and on constant content.

Making money online takes some time. Sometimes, you'll get a lot of work - but not get paid for it. Unlike a job, you get paid whether you produce certain results or not. But if you try to make an income from the Internet, you need to learn by your mistakes and always try out different ways of doing things.

Action and persistance are required to make it happen.

Hi, what is your passion in life? What interests you, what hobbies do you have?

You say you cannot write well, you cannot do video, you cannot build websites. Foucs on what you CAN do.

4-5 years ago, I didn't have a clue about how the internet worked, blogging, hosting, and all the other stuff (some say I still don't have a clue) :-)

But you can LEARN all of these skills, simply because you have got those 2 important things: Desire and passion.

I wish you all the luck in making money online.

Ladies and gentlemen, most of you have missed his point. He clearly says he is "no good at writing and no good at video" and does not "know" web development.

Here's the bad news--becoming "good" at writing takes YEARS of experience and cultivation.

Here's the good news--learning to create videos and use wordpress are a couple free YouTube videos away.

Here's the better news--most of this does not matter. The greatest asset online is finding a niche will little competition and an impulsive buying crowd.

In your shoes, Seven, I'd put my energies into finding a niche and coming up with a concept to monetize that niche. Then go find JV partners to execute your vision.

This is the same pattern used by the successful entrepreneurs of the world such as Richard Branson and Elon Musk--but the key here is vision.

      Everything else is a commodity.....

Well it appears that you are focus on what you can't do! Can you read? Start reading everything about Internet Marketing. There are plenty of people on the forum that know their business. Can I recommend one? NO.

You are in the right place. Keep reading but remember reading is not taking action. It won't do you any good if you don't take action on what you read. Conversely, you will sound intelligent but you won't be making any money.

Wow!.... Thanks all for all the advices in such a short time.

So I must find a high profit niche. So where do I look for? How? What next then? Is there any where I can find a mentor ? ( how much to engage one?)
Because I have so many questions to ask..I feel so embarrass to ask such a stupid question here.

There's no such thing as a stupid question. However, i would suggest you use the search function on here. Most questions have been asked more than once, and answers have been given. The reason i say to do this is you'll get more from the forum if you proactively find the answers first. Anything you are still unsure on, ask away.

Make the most of this forum, there is an abudnance of quality information at your finger tips.

          Seven,

It's not so much a "high profit" niche but finding one where it is not flooded with competitors.

A niche is merely a collection of people with similar interests.

A market is a collection of people with similar interests buying and selling somehting related to what they are interested in.

We as marketers should be entirely focused on identifying UNSERVED markets.

Gary Halbert once rhetorically asked if you were in the restaurant business, what's the one thing you would want if you could have anything?

          Gary's answer: A starving crowd.

Don't waste your money on mentorship education. Look for mentorship partners.

If you're going to pay someone a fee for the education, look to make them have some "skin in the game" in the form of profit share off your
          project(s).

          Lane

Start in the library and learn, read, explore. It's all free and will help a LOT.

Barnes and Noble has racks of books you can read in their stores and buy only the ones you feel will be good investments.

Be careful about spending money too soon. Read first, spend later.

As far as what to sell, it's such an open ended option. Selling what you love can be a good option but often is not... You need to sell what others love or they won't pay you for it.

Yes, there is hope for newbies that have a desire to succeed. I would suggest picking a niche you are interested in. The internet has tons and tons of valuable information. For example, if you want to sell products online. one source would be Click Bank and of course the Warrior forum has a number of affiliates that are providing valuable information daily. Good luck !

For a mentor, you can look in this forum. Don't forget to Check out their credential first before you join the mentoring program. The price is different for each mentor..

High profitable niche is a niche where there are many hungry buyers.. such as Making money online, weight loss, dating, health, etc..

and there's no stupid question mate.. There's only stupid people that don't want to ask question..

Seriously, what type of answer were you expecting to this question? I understand that you are a newbie. All of us started as newbies in this business. But it seems that all too often newbies ask commonsense questions in order to stall doing what they know it takes to succeed in internet marketing (or any other endeavor for that matter): HARD WORK.

Spending just 5 minutes reading threads on this forum will answer the stalling question of yours: of course there is hope for a newbie like you.

    But you already knew that.

You say that you were scammed plenty of times before in your attempts to do internet marketing. But I can almost guarantee that the "schemes" you were involved in were "make quick with no work" schemes, and NOT true internet marketing.

I suggest that instead of asking questions that you already know the answers to (and instead of wanting to spoon feed you the "secret" to internet marketing success), you spend a little time reading this paid forum you joined, and taking some action.

Paying for a get rich quick scheme isn't internet marketing. There are plenty of blueprints and guidelines, both free and, paid, listed here at the Warrior Forum for you to choose from, depending on your knowledge, talent level, resources, and individual personality.

Pick one and get to work.

      Hi Joemack,

      Thanks for your advice!

Do you why I get scam last time? It is because I read too much until I believe
it will work on that product. Now I do know the forum is full of infos. Well it will take me some time to read all, but even if I have read finished , I am afraid that I will be more confusing rather than knowledgeable. That is why I think I need a mentor either paid or share to guide me. ( NOT to spoon feed me).

JoeMack I believe you also wish to have a helping hand when you new.

Yes, there is always hope and anyone can succeed online. It does not matter if you are 41 or 71. Plus, if you tried to make money online before and have failed does not mean that you are bound to fail.

We all have the same opportunity in life to succeed and all those people who are doing really well online started probably worst then you and your situation. Everyone who is successful online struggled for a while and because they stuck it out and never gave up, they succeeded.

You can do it too. Just find a good mentor and follow their plan.

My friend, this is what you need more so than anything. To "CHANGE YOUR MINDSET"
You sound so desperate, that even if you start a business online the chances of you succeeding is very small. I understand your fears about being scammed, but here is the truth, most people scam themselves by either trying to get something for nothing (ponzi schemes) or not taking action when they are presented with something legit. Only you know whether you fall into those categories, if you do, then as I said before changing your mindset is the key.

There is always hope! Even if you aren't great at writing you can always get things outsourced.

I'd personally suggest checking out the Chris Farrell Membership - It's for complete beginners, he goes through everything via videos and the site has so much information. I think it's around $30 a month but well worth it.

If you don't want to spend any money at all you could set up your own blog and promote it via social media.

There is hope for anybody in this game. If a college drop out Mark Zuckerberg can make a billion bucks online so can you. First get a coach, get a cheap one since you don't have so much money, like $400. More importantly get around people in this feild in your area, this is crucial. look them up on meetup.com. They hold weekly or monthly workshops wherever you are, there is a warrior in a 10mile radius.

    Hi Seven7219!

You can make it in online marketing, if you want to. Your age is just a number. Remember you have to crawl before you walk!

    He is a little story!

I remember it like it was yesterday...

I grew up watching college and professional basketball and all of the big time stars form the 90's. I was in awe of the cross-over, the behind the back passes, the between the legs dribbling, and all of the other fancy moves the players were doing.

When I was about 8 yrs of age I decided I wanted to play basketball for the first time. So my uncle went out an purchased a normal sized basketball goal for me to get started.

After he finished setting up the bball goal for me I was ready to play. I was pumped!

So my uncle decided to play me 1 on 1 that day. I was ready! Remember I had watched the NBA players defeat their opponents with the fancy moves etc.

We started a game and he gave me the ball first. I asked him if he was sure that he wanted to do that!

    So I started to dribble.

My uncle got in a defensive stance with his hands out with his body angle toward my left side.

I'm thinking, "Ok if he is defending me from the left, all I have to do is go right with the ball in my right hand. If he cuts me off, I can cross over and go left and score!"

That's exactly what happened. And when I went to cross him over, he stole the ball!

Ugh, it didn't work, I thought!

    So we continued to play.

I tried all of the fancy moves I seen the NBA players do in the games. Nothing was working!

Now I'm fed up and frustrated!

He finally stopped and told me, "Look here nephew, You have to practice and study the fancy moves the professionals do if you want them to work. It's not going to happen over night, but you can make them work on your behalf. You have to take baby steps and build your skill set!

    And he was right.

Over time I practiced and studied the moves of the pros and build my skill set. I ended up being a problem to my opponents on the court in high school. And my Jr year we advanced to the playoffs for the first time in years (team effort of course).

    But...

The Take Away of This Story is...
    - Build your skill set.
    - Study what the advanced online marketers are doing.
    - Be patient.
    - Practice creating videos, writing articles, or whatever you want to get better at.
    - Take action with the material that you study!

Here is an illustration of a system I had created for someone on another thread. It's not a secret nor did I invent it.

But this is how others and myself make money online.

I uploaded it on tinypic.com so it's safe to click through.

Click Here => Simple System to Build a Business Online

Do not let your age hinder you! While you are not working use your time wisely and work hard! You can do this!!!

If a guy like myself from a little country town in South Carolina can make his first $200 online without knowing exactly what he was doing, you can too! That was in 2011 and I haven't stopped yet!

    Be Encouraged!

If you get to the point where you are putting out an offer or doing something else that requires some sales writing send me a PM. You'll do the first, rough draft and I'll polish it -- no charge. I'm new to IM but have had many offline direct marketing successes and can write in ways that compels people to buy. But keep in mind you need something people really want and an offer that is compelling. Copy makes the value you are offering clear and compelling but the perceived value must be there from the start.

If you make a real effort I think you will find many willing to help.

well for every determined human being irrespective what age you are - there is what you call hope...Never give them up.

I am also a newbie to this world of internet marketing. Like many others - i lost my bearings and went on a buying spree - most of them pretty much junk or does not work the way it should work with all the hypes. In a way I can be also classified as a fool for not demanding instant refund for all the rubbish dished out to newbies like us. Its all gathering dust waiting to be woken up.

Most of my salary has been spent but its not the end of the road - I am now focusing myself on one target which i found to be the most interesting thingy and i will share with the warriors once i get going.

I finally became a paid member out of desperation and i have no regrets. There are lots of wonderful human beings in here who are there to help and guide you as well as well as well heartless human beings who do not want to give that extra support even though you are their customer and I have sworn never to even give one order or recommend even though some of them are top class as its not worth it - everything is a paypal payment for them - thats their support. On the other hand - there are good people who are motivating and are looking at the real picture and trying to make money and help others as well.

I even bought a domain to guide newbies around and got lost in the desert. I hope I will get it up and running truly guide all the newbies around but first I hope to get off the ground and recover all the money i have dumped and some of it i can say wasted!

Anyway life goes on and I keep smilin' and working till i see the silver gleam soon.

      My two cents

I know, there are a lot to consider when you are actually looking for a suitable job or something like that but surely, depending on what interest you the most will surely make you the most of your money. Therefore, you surely want to consider something like teaching English, helping to write an article on a topic or even something you are good at can earn you a lot.

I believe that it would be better if you would try to learn the more you can by reading many posts in this forum before looking for a mentor because if you are ignorant you won't be able to evaluate the help you will have and you may be manipulated.

You should also learn how to create Squidoo lenses for free, which are quite simple, and try to sell affiliate products this way before creating your own website and blog, so that you may learn how the internet works into practice. Later you will use your Squidoo lenses to drive traffic to your own pages. You will find free information about how to create perfect lenses online.

You should learn how to write documents in English by studying this language. You need basic knowledge to begin with. Later you can outsource, but before spending money you have to understand how everything works.

Internet marketing is quite complicated. You have a lot to learn, but everyone is ignorant in the beginning. You are not the only one.

    Hi,

I dont want to be pessimistic here but I think getting an offline job would be better... You do a job and side by side persue IM. Coz it takes some or may be long time to get hold of this Internet thingy... web design, hiring offshore workers, SEO, marketing, social media, etc etc... and again I dont want to be harsh but since you have less computer knowledge it will take time...

    my 2 cents.

Always hope. I started 2 years ago right after I graduated. I knew nothing but the fact that I had a web browser, I can type, I can read, and I can research. That alone lead me to a never ending journey . Gained so much knowledge, and now I'm finally making $$

Yeah there's hope. You should do affiliate marketing (Clickbank comes to mind), and get your own website and email autoresponder (Aweber comes to mind). Find a hot niche, find a product to suit the problem or goal that the niche has, then promote via your email and cloaked website address.

Make sure you learn how to market online... using both free strategies (this works), and paid advertising. Consider PPC service like Google Adwords and Bing Ads. Essentially, this is all you have to do to get setup and selling online.

    Hi 'Seven',

Sorry to hear that you've been scammed already - unfortunately in a niche like this, a lot of people take advantage of the less-knowing people. Until you understand the business a bit better, it's probably also hard to see when you're getting scammed.

I'm running Fortynines.com. - where the price is usually $49, I'd like to offer you a free upgrade so you won't have to pay anything to get started. You can find some very detailed descriptions on how you can get started with a real internet business here. Along the way, it should also educate a "newbie" ( :-)) like yourself about a lot of different aspects of internet marketing.

If you're interested, just go ahead and send me a PM and we'll get you set up.

Of course there is! In order to make money online you have to decide what business you want to cater. You should decide what you are interested and what you are good at. Then you read marketing books and sales books so you can start as soon as possible.

    Hope this helps!

This IS funny, but not funny. I have NO real capital to get started and got accepted into some CPA (cost per action) affiliate programs and finally got a conversion the other day of 37 dollars. Mind you I was using free methods and my own web hosting and own hand made landing page with the offer on it. I couldn't believe that they converted.

So, yes there IS hope. There is a big learning curve, but there is hope.

Hey there, I'm a newbie myself here.

Well you're about twice my age, and even you got hit by this economic recession.

I think it's because of all these jobs losses (layoffs/company downsizes) and difficulty in finding sustainable work makes frustrated and unhappy people like you and me wanting to find a long term solution without solely relying on a such a flawed system of having to work for others in order to survive and make ends meet.

I've been without a job for about 3 years now myself.

I believe that us newbies have hope. I know I will keep believing, and I would suggest anyone that feels dissatisfied with how things turned out for them in real life due to either job dissatisfaction or jobless because of the current economic conditions to NEVER GIVE UP HOPE in finding an alternate way to make money by using the Internet.

I would suggest also to never rush any decisions to make any (especially the really expensive kinds) purchase of ANY offer or system that have not been verified to work consistently and is very newbie and beginner friendly to begin with.

There's like so many of them all over the internet. Some are legit but most are just scams to quickly rip off the unsuspecting newbies. Research is very important.

And also sometimes even testimonials and feedback could possibly be fabricated and rigged to trick newbies into thinking the internet marketing product or system they have to offer is a legit one. If possible check here in the forums to see if there is anything concrete to verify any of those products or systems you plan to purchase.

I'm pretty sure majority of newbies including myself have gotten ripped off at least 2-3 times maybe more, maybe less.

Ah.... Now this is the similar case that you and I have. I never consider my writing skills to be something quality or competition worthy. Writing is overall my biggest concern when it comes to making money with the internet.

I've asked about this earlier in my own thread and other users thought I was fine, well if they say sure, yea, ok, but I very much doubt it.

The other advice I got were to go with focus on making videos, if I do not want to write article after article such as blogging.

Well making videos shouldn't be that hard in general for me, but I don't know about for Internet Marketing. I now how to make video captures of video games and computer activity, but I'm uncertain about how to properly make videos for Internet Marketing at this time.

One alternative to deal with weaknesses like the ones you've mentioned would be to outsource and get help from someone that already is familiar and have those qualities or skill you lack or that you think you lack (or feel uncomfortable doing).

Outsourcing could get expensive though, if possible check with family and friends and anyone else close that have good video making skills or writing skills and try to form a business partnership or team of some kind with them.

It's best for newbies to get help and work together with someone that is "already" familiar with internet marketing (ideally Locally if possible) and is genuine and legit about helping them without having any kind of personal agendas of their own.

I know I am uncomfortable with blogging writing article after article after article.

Maybe I could do something like this only for a short time and for something very small scale to test the waters, but long term solution I very much doubt it.

I also understand I need capital to start , I do have some but not much. To add on I also have no knowledge of web building. I guess the only things I have is my computer, internet, my desire , passion ,determination and my time (at least for the next 2-3mth since I am jobless)

This is pretty much unavoidable I was looking for systems that don't require any kind of investments and most are fake or scams also while others don't really make anything substantial to really make a living off of. E.G. Paid To Click and Paid Surveys sites, you more than likely are just gonna be collecting a few dollars here and there at most.

The same goes for what I said in my own thread regarding how even if I were to go back to school or college for education or skills training an investment is unavoidable and there is no guaranteed Return on Investment. I'd run the risk of being in debt from various school loans etc., and their career placement dept (typically they all have at least one) will try and do their best to help find me find a job post-graduation or near graduation period.

But even then there are no guarantees or promises. It also greatly depends on what I'd go back to school or training for (greatly dependent on field of work that has enough demand) and how much grants or scholarships I can accumulate to avoid dealing with school loans that are really expensive and difficult to nearly impossible to for me pay off in time.

I don't have any real knowledge of web building myself either, last time I did some HTML was back in High School and only like 2 courses I had in college involve using them.

Finding another job doesn't happen overnight either, and neither is is that much easier. There are many factors.

Depending on skills, experience, and field of work/industry, etc.,.. More importantly who knows him, and what his connections are.

He's in his early 40s so chances are he has a lot of work experience already and that shouldn't be an issue since most employers prefer job applicants with lots of previous work experience.

Just can't be too nitpicky though, if he's unable to find another position related to his previous job's industry then he's gonna have to try other positions and hope for the best. What I meant are jobs that don't have really good wages and are very basic such as cashier or bagging groceries. Depending on his location also, if those jobs are still in demand despite low wages, poor hours, etc.,... he at least have a chance to get bak into the workforce sooner.

Lastly, network, network, network - Get in touch with all family and friends, reach out to as many of them as you could. Maybe even if they can't refer you to a job position they might still have gigs or jobs that pay you under the table (cash only) although usually the latter doesn't provide much income for anyone to get by it's still better than nothing. Try pretty much everything.

Oh, and he should file for unemployment benefits if he hasn't done that yet. Try to be able find work within 6 months, and keep busy. Any longer than 6 months of unemployment status makes things THAT much more difficult later to find a job.

You can do it but first understand that its a skill and you must first learn this skill. You are not going to make huge money right out the gate. If your enntion is to make a fast buck them Im sorry your not goiing to do it. Im just putting it blunt for you. The good news is that there is litterly dozens of different ways to make money online. First you need to understand that as a marketer you are using this tool of the internet based around supply and demand. It all comes down to learning how to step in front of the parades of targeted traffic that is out there. Notice how I said "step infront" rather than being a part of or the parade itself!

There is definitely hope for someone like you. I got my first money writing articles on fiverr believe it or not. Now I understand you can't write but honestly it doesn't take a lot to write good content for the internet as far as blog posts and articles. Now press releases and things like that require a bit of a diferent approach but again, not hard. There are all sorts of information on many different ways to make money. The best thing for you to do now is find information on what you feel you can do working online. If you feel you can write, find jobs for freelance writers, if you think you cansell, learn how to become an affiliate marketer. The fact that you have some capital is really good because that will drive your traffic a little faster, I can tell you from experience at least for me who didn't have any capital driving traffic with totally free methods is very time consuming and takes lots of work and effort. In either case with a business you are going to invest your time or your money. Keep that in mind when going into these types of ventures and there will be hope for you to succeed as well.

Yes you still have hope to make money online. Everyone starts from newbie. Even Bill Gates, one of the richest person on the Earth was a newbie when he wanted to get started. It takes times to succeed and to be able to make money online. You just need to be patience, and consistency in doing work.

My advice is try to find another job first to build capital while finding the most suitable way for you to make money online. There are plenty of ways on how to make money online that doesn't require skills on writing, making videos and web development. One of them is to advertise CPA offers at Facebook. Internet is huge. There're plenty of opportunities to make money.

Once you found the suitable way for you to make money online, keep focusing on it. Don't even get distracted by any shiny objects.

Of course there is hope. Just don't put your self down. Yes there will be highs and lows but there will be with anything you do in life.

Just stay consistent, it doesn't take a massive investment to get into it. The only invest net really is outsourcing stuff.

Read up on marketing, use Wordpress to build websites. Any small details you find hard just do a specific search for them and I'm sure there will be a tutorial on it.

The big one though that I said above is stay consistent. Don't give up. Most newbies give up in the first few months.

Best of luck to you. I hope it works out. Let me know if you need help at all. Just PM me if you need a hand.
