Kindle Sales Suddenly Stopped! Any ideas why?

Hi there

After some thoughts/ideas if possible.

I have a Kindle book which has been averaging over 200 sales a month for over 12 months. This month it has suddenly stopped at 15 sales this month!!!

I have looked in the Kindle store and it is still sitting at No. 1 in its category.

Does anyone have any ideas on how/where I can look to find out why the sales would suddenly dry up so badly. The number has been on 15 sales for about 15 days at least so it is not like they have drip fed though the month.

Weird if it's still number one it means that for some reason people have stopped building in this sub niche.

1 month is too early to really get a good view of what happen.

Wait another month and let us know how it goes.

  If it's been around for 12 months, you'll probably have the sale stats for last year this of the month. Was it around 200 back then?
  
  What about the current sales rank? Has that taken a huge beating too?

  It appears that Amazon are reviewing the book for formatting issues (why after all this time I dont know!!) and the email attached to the account is one I do not check regularly.

Thats right.

Apparently there a few typos in the book and having the pages numbered "breaks the flow for the reader" !! Blimey, when did Amazon get so picky?!

Anyway, upshot is until ALL the anomalies are put right, it will not be available for sale.

At least I know that now.

Is it based on a specific keyword? Have you checked the google trends lately for that keyword? Perhaps search volume has simply gone down
- Go here: Google Trends - Hot Searches
- Enter your keyword - hopefully you'll see a pattern and be able to adjust accordingly with more trending topics.

While it sucks that you have to do a little re-editing, it's an easy fix and definitely best to not have any page numbers or weird page breaks anyway because it negatively affects the reader experience.
