How much are you making?

I tried to get into this a few years ago and just didn't succeed. I made around $100 after lots of webpages, articles and time. I'm wanting to give this another go and try to do it properly this time.

If you could answer a few questions I think it would help me get a sense of where to go and what is required.

1) How much are you currently averaging a month and how long did it take to get to that point?

2) How are you making money? Affiliate clickbank products, membership sites with valuable content, performing services, created your own product and using affiliates to market it etc.

3) How much time per week do you invest in your online activities?

4) If hypothetically speaking your current online money makers were deleted how long would it take you from scratch to get back to your current earnings knowing now what you do?

5) Is there any product/book etc that you would highly recommend to assist in diving back into this marketing world?

Thanks

Congrats Steve, that is very impressive! You must be ecstatic at the moment.
Do you feel you can maintain current sales fairly easily?
I guess I'm just feeling a bit lost on where to start. Think I need to mindmap a few options of what I can do although that is probably the hardest part. Then from there get to the technical bit of making a site and trying to get traffic.
Is Ezine articles still the way to go for traffic sources?

      Thanks

In some ways your question is important. In other ways it is irrelevant. If you have been looking around for some time you probably now have an idea of what you want to do. You need to define what your thing is. Once you have found that out, then check that you can earn enough money for you doing that thing.

In 2007 I first visited this forum. I quickly found that my thing is writing. So that is what I do. It has many guises such as Kindle fiction, Kindle non fiction, product creation, article writing service, ghostwriting, sales copy writing. etc.

So a better thing to do is find out what your thing is. Then check you can earn enough doing that. If you can. That's all that matters. Go to it!

I must confess I am interested in the answer to nummber 5 too. I am currently making money from writing articles and other freelancing activities and I joined the forum to learn how to do more, but I find myself constantly confused, so I would really, really apreciate a book to learn and understand the basics.

    thank you

    Hi Dragone

I started IM back in 2007 bought an E-book sold it on a platform called ejunkie for $27 make just over 7K in 3 weeks , now have real job and combine with some motivational coaching to a couple of warriors now around the 23K a month so It can be done.

Without having to answer all the questions I would try this
Find one thing you like and treat it like a hobby ( you will enjoy it so much better) and become the best you can at that chosen filed and the money will flow

The Figure is not accurate but $300 to $500 daily from my forex trading and about $2500 every weekend with my email list.

    So..
    1) $15000 a month.
    2) product creation, list building and forex.
    3) 28 hours a week.
    4) maybe a week from my forex business but may not able to get my email list back so maybe around 1 year from list building again.

Some serious money making going on out there it seems. That is what inspires me to get back into this and try make something out of it this time.

I bought a WSO which is very informative and has given me all the info on how to create a funnel although now I just need to come up with what it is I'm going to be creating.

Any advice on product creation? Seems like going with something you're passionate about then drilling down into a certain niche is easiest/best?

    1. It wasn't easy at first but the many years of errors and trials have perfected a gem in me. I do a lot of stuffs from adsense, to affiliate marketing like proxies/amazon, graphic designs and logo. AdSense is the most profitable for now though i don't earn nil for any, not less than $100 and slightly over $300 for adsense, it fluctuates anyway.

    2. Answered that in #1.

    3. 8hrs+, on a very few occasions it could be less.

    4. These is going to be based on what i promote or do. There are some money making schemes that will take me atleast 30days there are others that won't take me 5days, so i will say in a few days. There are lots of sources of traffic i can tap into, put up a small page or something similar and set the ball rolling again. The most important thing is having capital to invest without that i will suck and be going for 30days+.

    5. Ok, i will give you my eBook for FREE, PM me as soon as you are ready.

My wife won't tell me how much I'm making

I have lots of my own products, sell affiliate product,
broker joint ventures, do some mentoring, and spend
a lot of time networking in my local business community.

I average about 10 hours per day, but am getting ready
    to cut back

If I had to start over, it would only take me a month or
so to get back on my feet today.

I'd recommend reading One Sentence Persuasion Formula
by Blair Warren... if you immerse yourself in what he teaches
you will become a master copywriter and salesman!

I also recommend reading Be Unreasonable by Paul Lemberg.
This will also help you to develop the necessary mindset!

    (1) Haven't made my first paycheck yet, but I'm close to it!
    (2) Solely promoting Clickbank products
    (3) Depends on how motivated I am. When I make a sale through Clickbank I get very motivated and I spend half the day with my online work. Other times I get disheartened and I don't work t all for ages!
    (4) My online money makers would be primarily my articles. If these were gone, I would have to spend months resubmitting new articles to directories. I doubt this would happen though.
    (5) I base my online structure on the e-book written by Stuart Stirling (2007) - it is slightly out of date but still very informative for the basics of online money making via article writing.

Let me now if you need more details about this e-book. I bought it a while ago, but as far as I remember it didn't cost me much at all. A great investment.

  • I went from $400-600 a day in the fitness niche. Then became obsessed with coding and destroyed my profitable business. I am not making anything right now, but I do have a lot of software products of my own creations that are ready to launch. I need JV's though. And I have lots of resources and am not to proud to bribe. I do want to get my old $600 a day site back up to its former glory. Then it is back to school. Many business sure keeps you busy.

About a thousand a month (like it says in my sig) from online stuff, but I do it very part-time and own a business offline that pays most of the bills. I sell my own product, do very little work at this point (maybe 3-4 hours a month), and could get most of it back within a month or two if I had to start from scratch again.

This does make you wonder how many people aren't making money, though.
I have made about 10,000 in adsense revenue over the last 7 years, I had an online embroidery business that did OK, but I was doing everything. IM is just like any other business, though; you have winners and losers. The losers will almost always out number the winners because having a business requires focus, commitment, talent, etc.

There is no real way of knowing when to do something different in your business and life because you don't want to be a quitter and at the same time you don't want to keep trying to be successful at something that is a dead end. You just have to go with your instincts, sometimes.

Anyway, I have to run, but that's my 2 cents.

    God Bless!

I make alot when I work smart, I only made 97 dollars today cause I'm lazy or was lazy a week or so ago, my income does not reflect my current day it reflects what I did in the past.

Number 5. Your not a war room member, get it, cheaper than any online course and more info than you can handle.

With that said, pick a topic and stick to it till finished, nail that damn chair to the floor and don't look around, work, work till you see double. When you see a reward out of that then start on something else.

For most your questions, don't put all your eggs in one basket one change on the net could blow it all away. Have many things your making money at.

I will tell you this when you succeed at your first endeavor the rest will come easier.

I've learned not to give figures (perfectly legitimate and relevant question though it obviously is, to many), because unfortunately the hostility and resentment the answers can produce, from some quarters, are quite remarkable, but will repeat what I've already said, long ago, in earlier threads asking the same (because it's "on the board" anyway): I earned almost nothing at all in the first 3 months; after 6 months I was earning about $3.5k per month, and another year after that I was making $10k profit per month. That was over 3 years ago, now. I do ok.

I'm an affiliate only. 75% of my income comes from ClickBank and the remainder from an assortment of other places (including Amazon).

Originally Posted by Dragone View Post

Less now than often in the past, and I've taken on two full-time VA's early this year, both of whom are still with me. Probably no more than about 55 hours per week, at the moment. (Many people building their own business of all kinds, offline as well as online, work longer hours than this, I think).

When I first started, I was still a student and worked only about 30 hours per week on my business.

I think this is a very good and relevant and important question, and it's something I think about a lot, but I don't know the answer.

I try to diversify to avoid a calamity.

I now promote over 30 different ClickBank products in a range of 8 entirely unrelated niches. My "worst accident" would be if ClickBank disappeared tomorrow, but it seems extraordinarily unlikely. If it did, presumably the vendors of those products would start selling them somewhere else, wanting to retain their affiliates, pretty quickly, so I hope it wouldn't wipe me out. I certainly don't see Amazon disappearing either, at this stage. But such concerns are important, of course.
