Are Pre-Made Sites Worth It?

I'm interested in checking into the sites advertised in the ready made section, and optimized with an expected Adsense income every week or so.

I'd like to have one or several sites eventually bringing in at least $50 a day or more so that I can focus on my other artistic endeavors. I really want to quit my day job if possible as soon as possible.

Are there any site vendors on here that are really reliable? All of their ads just disqualify their competitors so much, no one really outshines the rest.

If anyone has experience with these turnkey sites and has seen a company build sites that make consistent money, whether it's $5 a day or $100, please send me the recommendations and how much their sites typically earn and the other pertinent details.

Like I said, I know that I might have to combine a few sites to reach my financial goal, but I'd really like to do something else simple headache and maintenance free for finances while I build my jewelry and music business.

don't believe the sales letters word trickery. It's going to take much more time and money to operate a successful site than just buying one. it's no asset

They have online stores that are prebuilt for you. You just need to drive traffic to it and pay a monthly fee. Not sure of a good one off hand. Depends on what product you want to promote.

I can't recommend a specific vendor but turnkey sites can
    work.

Just as with a brick-and-mortar business, it largely hinges
upon getting enough QUALIFIED traffic through your door.

That's the hard part for many, as is evidenced by so many
threads on this forum on driving traffic. Since the same
turnkey site is sold to numerous people, SEO is largely
a non-player, so you have to plan on driving traffic via other
    methods.

If you can drive traffic, then you income goal should be
    very doable.

Thank you for your input. I didn't realize you'd have to drive your own traffic. I thought since some of the companies were advertising that they were penguin and panda proof that they were going to be SEO optimized already.

I've seen some paid traffic on here which would be cool, but on other places online paid traffic is usually a bad bet. However, throughout this forum, I'm seeing positive reviews for it being real and possibly even converting sometimes. I guess other members could be lying for the seller though.

These so called' turn-key' site packages could be being sold to thousands of others.

So there'll be a massive trackable footprint out there for Google to track down

I wouldn't be getting involved with them at all

What does that mean? WordPress itself is a large footprint.

I think passive income is not guaranteed unless you are paying for marketing as well. Those sites are just web designs and content.

Yes pre built sites can and do work. You can save yourself a lot of time and headache with pre build sites. However, like the others have stated, getting traffic is your biggest hurdle. You might think about getting a pre made site than adding some original content (articles) to your site to set you apart from those that received the same pre built site. 1 or 2 articles won't cut it, you will need to add 10-20 unique articles over a period of 2-3 weeks and then continue adding an article at least once a week. You can get additional traffic thru ppv/ppc also. Be careful that you obey all TOS for google. I don't believe you can advertise a link that leads directly to a page with google ads displayed on it. A landing page which has no ads and directs the viewer to your site will be a better option. Maybe some of the others on this thread can give more insight. Good luck!

It's too risky to buy pre-made sites. It would be better if you made it by your own.

I see why you and GlenH feel this way about the cookie cutter risk. I used to understand SEO and could do keyword research and then Penguin and Panda came out and I just said forget it. It took me so long to learn the other stuff, now backlinks didn't work good for anything, everything changed and there was no guarantee on your position.

I was always able to get a site on the first page for something. I never built an Adsense site during that time though, I just did it for other people as part of a web design service. Once I realized that an Adsense site might earn a few bucks a day and rinse and repeat that, everything changed with SEO.

If I were a full time SEO worker, I would learn everything again, but I want marketing to be a side thing and not take over my whole life again. However, I can tell this forum is a great place for research and maybe finding a good, simple fit for me. I might start a blog, but I really don't want to get back into keyword research....hmm

I would not agree assuming that the pre-made site has the following:

      - Uses CSS to separate content from structure
      - The HTML validates
      - The HTML, JavaScript is tuned for best performance
      - Best practise SEO is applied to the design ( meta, header tags etc.)
      - All the social plugins are there as relevant

That is worth paying for as a starting point. You will have no traffic but at least you have a template the deal with traffic when/if it arrives.

Takes alot of skill to build a site that adheres to the 5 points above.

Premade niche sites are a bargain if you consider the premium themes used, content already put it and often commercial plugins thrown in plus nice design and already set up. They are cheap when you look at them that way.

However, any vendor that is promising an income from them is probably not being honest, as you cannot promise an income from any turnkey site.

Like any other site, the traffic and revenue will depend entirely on you and what you do to promote it. You should also consider that you will need to start adding your own unique content.

You are not going to make money from them if you simply install and bunch of them and do nothing else.

I have yet to find a site that is maintenance free that makes you money. Let me know if you find one. Everything I have found so far is High Maintenance and requires a lot of marketing. I would be interested to know if you find something. Why don't you get yourself a free blog and then talk about your passion about your jewelry and post pictures of the things you make. I've been reading a lot on the internet lately. This could just be a start for you as you already have a product. And if jewelry is your passion it should be easy to talk about. Send e-mails to everyone you know asking them to visit your blog and to recommend it to their friends. I could be talking total trash, but if I had a product this is what I would do

They are worth it if you'll be putting in some of your own time and money. There's no such thing as just simply buying the turnkey website and let it earn money on its own.

Well, the thing is, once you purchase a website the owner of that website will stop working on it. In other words, he will leave the job of maintaining and ranking the website up to you. Websites will steadily lose traffic if you don't continue to add new content and keep things fresh.

If you hire someone to keep the website active then you could make a decent amount per month. But if you just buy a website without maintaining it, the revenue it did generate will steadily drop.

I think it is cheaper to build your own site, at least from a content point of view. You can write the articles yourself if you are familiar with how to use keywords and of course, you can count on having an unique content.

    Hello

As some of the other posters has mentioned - if you are uncomfortable building your own websites then pre-made websites can be a god-send.

However, you won't earn any money just from purchasing the website alone. A lot of people purchase one of these websites and expect them to start earning them money straight away. This is simply not true (unless you are purchasing an established website)- and if a vendor tells you otherwise they are lying.

You will need to put the work in after you have purchased the website and drive your own traffic to it. You can also edit and add new content to the website to make it your own.

Pre-made sites are one thing for a business owner. A time saver. You can spend so much time figuring out the design, the navigation flow, or selecting a template theme for example...Months will pass and you have missed opportunities to sell and make money. Like others have said, it is about what you do with the site when you get it. Whether you purchase site that comes with a domain, or a pre-made minisite that may not have a domain, what will you do to drive traffic and generate sales?

Remember you can buy one of the biggest name sites out there now, but if you don't know what to do with it, traffic will die and you will lose sales. I have seen a lot of popular sites switch owners and boy you can tell the difference, no customer service, no new content and people lose interest.

So whether you buy existing, or a starter minisite, or your own...just ask yourself "How do I plan to make this site a success"?

Pre-made sites can save you a ton of time and money. If you buy a pre-made site, it usually comes with some premium plugins and themes.

If you were to purchase these on your own, you could literally spend hundreds. However, you are going to have to work on driving traffic to the site.

Just because you have a site, does not mean that you will begin getting traffic. It will help also if you put unique content on the site.

The question is what do you mean by "PreMade-Site" - is it only the Template or you also plan to use the Content and the graphics and all the plugins as is without any customization / modifications - I would advice you not to use PLR content as nowadays its useless at best or will get you a duplicate content signal from google in the worst case... regarding the Graphics - again if you don't want to look like just another "Made-for-Adsense" site you will need to get your own graphics. one last advice - make sure you buy the package from a trusted source so that you won't realize you have some sneaky backdoor scripts that will make your site an no brainier for hackers...

If those people could churn out websites that produce passive income, why would they be selling the sites?

If you are going to buy a site, I recommend buying only a template and then filling it in with your own content. Or at least managing the outsourcing of the content yourself.

If you buy a pre-made site, chances are that any content on it will crap. And not just regular crap, but duplicate crap.

Yes they are worth it, but you would be better off rewriting the articles.

If you're after quality, I suggest you don't take that road. Pre-made sites are a great convenience in a way that you won't need a programmer or a designer to create it for you. You also won't need to hire writers as content is likely populated. The catch is, what you have there is likely generic articles.

If I were you, I'd invest in site creation. Caveat: it takes some patience, especially with design revisions.

Pre made or ready made sites are not worth because vendors generally sell the same site to hundreds of people. Also be aware of income claims and traffic claims , most of them are fabricated.
Use you common sense while looking for a ready made site , if you are looking for a site which is making $50 per day without doing any work or investment then pls keep in mind that nobody will sell that site.
My recommendation for you is that try to treat online business like any other offline business. Stay away from " Auto-pilot " , no work involved type sites.

I have built several affiliate sites for many warriors from scratch and they required consistent work to make money. However if you are looking for a established website , I can help you to find a good site as some of my clients sell their established websites.

CandyCandy - Most of the time (but not ALWAYS) people sell sites to flip them or because they are not making them much revenue. Nowadays with SEO being so picky about backlinks to an older site, go to SEOMoz.com (now Moz.com) and check the backlinks there. Go search here in the forum and find someone that will tell you what the quality of the backlnks are to that site. If they are poor, your traffic will be poor. New ways to market are coming out every day that don't rely on Google such as Pinterest, Facebook Fanpages and
    Instagram.

Keep your eye out for new WSOs promoting those as they are the cutting-edge of how to find your TARGET audience for jewelry, music. etc. that will make you SMILE as you can find an AUDIENCE of people who love your artsy wares. You can build an Ecommerce site (search that in the WSOs and forums) and as someone already suggested, drive traffic with these new ways. Some people are making thousands with these new traffic methods that have nothing to do with SEO.

Hope that helps! Kristie from Georgia

Remember the more sites you own the more sites you have to actually work on. As a person who used to run over 100 websites at the same time let me tell you it would be much better to focus on one authority site and give it your everything.

Google isn't too fond of mini sites anymore so you should be creating larger sites all around.

Premade sites can be good, as in terms of buying a unique one. Bet its not unique though. I bet the person selling it has done this a dozen times with sites almost identical.
Easy for them to get some adsense money in with paid traffic.

Maybe you should do what they do and make them a premade site and sell it. Remember the shovel sellers are who make the money honey.

Hi guys . I am new to this forum. So if this is the wrong place to add this question to the post. I apologize in advance.I train dogs and I was thinking of buying one of these pre made websites more to give information about what I do and what my system is about.. I may also (with permission) post articles from professionals I respect in the business. My main purpose is not to generate a lot money from the website (not that that would be a bad thing) but to give myself a forum to post my idea's. Also I feel I am at the point where I should have some kind of web presence especially for existing and new clients. A lot of people have asked for my web site which at the present moment doesn't exist. I'm not real tech savvy and don't want to spend the money to have a website built because although dog training does make me money and is my passion it's not my main source of income. I recently found a great looking dog training site for sale cheaper than I think I could even build it myself. The only problem is I hate 90% of the information on it but I love the layout. The tools also seem easy to use. It may be cookie cutter to some but it's as professional looking as a lot of peoples that I know have spent over a thousand dollars building there site. My idea is to buy the website and spend some time putting in my own material before ever having it put up. Anyone have any thoughts on whether this is a good way to go? Sorry I about being so wordy.

Besides the traffic issue, most of the pre-made sites are based on well-known, hard-fought keywords/niches. Nevertheless, experiences are not the same for all of us so my best advice is to buy one or two very cheap sites and see how it goes. Apply different strategies to each of the sites and see which one can deliver some money. Make a 3,6 or 9-month plan to check each site's ROI. If the return is poor, then abandon the sites and move to something else. Good luck.

yeah candycandy, couple of things you just want to be aware of is that if your gong to be dealing with adsense revenue your best bet taking the time to read thier terms. You do not want dublicate content out there are your adsense account will bet banned.

You will want a one of a kind turn key site. you'll be looking at a couple of grand for that. You can try elance!

Your best bet in my opinion and based on my experiance is outsourcing and having your own custom site or blog built and montizing it yourself. It's faily easy. Just takes a testing process to set things up correctly so its making you a little mula.

After you get your site all set then spend time sending traffic through article marketing, forum posting, blog commenting and over time you will build yourself up. You can always test first with some ppc from facebook or someplace or even some solo ads to make sure you are converting plus hopefully give you a little fast cash but just remember if you don't get you expected results the first try that you need to simply change a couple of little thiings on your site and do another test.

Go out and research what your competition is doing. The competition that has been out here for a while an is making money. Then just copy them. Do what they do but do it better! It's give you an idea anyways.
