I like e-junkie.com and use them. I just saw they had this pretty cool way to discourage people sharing your pdf's after they buy and download them:'

hhmm.. that is quite interesting. I guess people wouldn't want to share it if there person info is on it. Of course still be sharing, but maybe not as much?

That is pretty neat IMO. Nice idea. I wonder how they do that. Must be a programming API call from an Adobe .dll.

There is a way to generate a PDF on the fly with specific
key words mixed up so each is like a code - and if the
PDF is shared it can be traced to the sharer for
prosecution.

The marketer who I know is using this technique has said
he will make it available at some point.

It's simple I have software that will stamp your info on every page, keep it from being copied, and even password protect it if you like. I also have resale rights, if interested just send me a PM and I will make you a good deal.

I downloaded one, but is there any other security. I was able to save it as a text file then load it into word, make another pdf with the name and email info removed.

Good point! Acrobat Reader allows you to save anything as text -- no fancy extraction software required. I discovered that just this week, actually when looking for a legitimate solution for merging the contents of two pdf documents.

You can also just have your server modify your PDF on the fly before providing it to your customer (then you're not limited by a specific content delivery company).

Pretty good idea... I guess they should make something like Hardware identification and on the fly key generation ..Like what we use in software..Converting ebook into .exe and then using software piracy protection for it..

I have been doing this invisibly on a lot of my products over the years using Linux tools but I like this more "Visible" deterrent.

I am glad they are stepping up to the plate.

You can disable the "copying" option, if you dont want the buyers to copy any text from pdf. This way buyers won't be able to save the file as text, hence won't be able to change the their e-mail address from the pdfs.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding this feature.

Yeah, right.

They can just convert pdf to doc, remove that and convert back to pdf.
