Is this a new Wordpress hacking attempt?

INTERNET MARKETING

I use WP on about 95% of my sites. About a year ago, after a big hacking scare, I installed a plugin that monitors file changes. Over the last few days I have received the same file change notices from about a dozen of my websites. Here is the file change:

wp-content/plugins/error_log
wp-content/themes/twentyten/error_log

I don't use twentyten on any of my sites, but the theme is probably still installed since it came with the installation.

I did a Google search and a WF forum search but didn't find anyone else talking about it.

Anyone else getting this or know what is causing it?

Hard to tell based on the info given. I don't have any file change notification plugins myself. Do you have FTP to look up that file or folder?

They probably put a notice in the error log.

Open up the error_log file with a text editor, and see what's in it... If you're unsure, you could post the entries in the error log here on the forum.

The plugin is telling you that the file has been modified because there has been a change made to it.

I don't think it related to any hacking attempt, may be just a error_log file.

Here is the error in the twentyten log:

[01-Jun-2013 14:38:23] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/themes/twentyten/404.php on line 10

Here is the plugin error log:

[01-Jun-2013 14:38:22] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_action() in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/hello.php on line 60

I don't run twentyten on the site, but it is still installed. I don't have the Hello Dolly plugnin activated.

Not enough information to conclude much of anything, but I can tell you this.

Remove (uninstall, and then delete the directory) any plugins or themes that you're not currently using.

The more code you have, the more potential exploitations that can occur.
