Pop-Ins or Pop-Outs, what works better?

Quick question that pertains to pop-ins and pop-outs.

One warrior posted information about a cool wordpress plugin for pop-ins and pop-outs and I want to install it on a few websites that I have.

However, I have never used eithier one of these marketing tools, so I was wondering from your experience, which one usually produces more conversions?

In my own opinion I would think Pop-In, because when they are leaving the site they might be frustrated witha Pop-Out. However, I have been wrong before.
