Purchase Page Layout - where to put price?

Hi,
I sell a $300 book to a niche market (yes, it sells), but I'm wondering about the best ways to optimize and A/B test my "purchase" page...

I spent a long time with the sales page (with the help of many people here) and now that I'm getting a good number of clicks on the "buy now" button on the sales page I want to see if changing the purchase page will have an effect on sales.

I do not want to lower the price, so it there a recommended approach to teasing a "purchase" page? What things should be varied on a purchase page? The location of the price? The reason you need the product? Why it's such a great value?

Thank you in advance for any advice!
R

Are you using that as the sales page you are linking to?

Side questions... Have you ever split tested a lower or higher price?

1). The sales page is www.shorthilsdesign.com/workbook and when you click to buy it you are directed to the purchase page.

      2) Yes -- I did test the pricing. It sold a ton at $99 but it still sells at $300.

I went to the home page and there is no opt in to join your list so you can promote to them later....nor when they try to click off your purchase page they may be gone forever.

That is what I would focus on right now I think.

Also if you want to get some great tips on making sure your page converts ask for it in the CopyWriting section of the WF forum.

Keep in mind They are deadly....helpful.

      Thanks for taking a look.
      1) But where on the home page would you put the op-in? I wanted to keep my services (web design, seo) clear of opt-in because that's my core business. The book is another thing that I do that leads into converting the visitor into a potential client.

      2) Would you do one of those (popup on exit) things -- "don't miss out on the chance to download a free copy of the introduction....."

And if so, which popup would you recommend. I recall a ways back there was a good one for Wordpress that was around $80.

      Thank you!

Ok. Regardless of price, which one is more profitable?

Better question - what is your current conversion rate?

How about one thing at a time, hey?

Go to Facebook and ask for Colin Theriot. He's not cheap, but he WILL get you results. He runs a Facebook page called "The Cult of Copy"

I agree with Matthew. (he knows his stuff)

Consider changing up your buy buttons. They don't really stand out. There's no real urgency or call to action.

Concentrate on one thing at a time. Don't get lost with popups, and optins and exit grabbers just yet.

You should have the guarantee, a summary of the benefits and then the price should be in the normal checkout area. Depends what mercahnt you're using but I wouldn't go out of my way to put the price in other than where they would enter their credit card in.

Do you mean on the workbook page or the purchase page? Thank you!
