Payment processing for electronic cigarettes?

Hello Warriors,

I sold my two eCig businesses last year b/c paypal updated their services to officailly mark the electronic item as 'tobacco related'.

Now, I'm handling some setup work for an eCig company and wondering who is a good high risk merchant processor for the goods?

Are they really tobacco related? I would call them electronic devices. There are heaps of E-cigarette Web sites that use PayPal.

thanks. def interesting to see this. I wonder if it's because they don't make enough to set off paypal's alerts or if it's alternate policy for other countries.

I don't see paypal clearly on these sites however , not the .com sites. i see a logo on bottom but no easily on checkout

I just tested out the order form on the first .com website and it definitely has an option for PayPal using the business name "Global Electronic Cigarettes". But you know how PayPal tends to focus more on the larger sellers so it's very possible that they just haven't been caught yet.

I had trouble with Paypal as well for my ecig business- went through 2 accounts before I gave up. I've been looking at Paypal alternatives before I start another ecig site back up. I found this one, but have had no experience with it yet. just FYI

If you are going to set this up so that affiliates can earn commissions from selling this product then I would go with Shareasale.com. This website allows you to sell physical products and also allow others who are affiliates to sell it for a commission.

If you are, or the company you are setting this up for, will do all the selling themselves and not want to have any affiliates, PayPal is a good place. But you need to make sure that they are OK with this.

If they turn you down, there are also other companies online like Payza or Payoneer.com.

  I was thinking of promoting e-cigs through one of the cpa affiliate programs, but now that they show up at every gas station, I'm wondering if selling those cpa affiliate programs are even still viable, what with their $100/month price tags.
