Best country to outsource to...

In what country do you find the best prices and easiest people to work with for outsourcing? I'd predominately be seeking technical assistance/support.

I've had nothing but great work hiring virtual employees there, but I

IS that I understand the culture.

Depends on what you mean by easiest and how you generalize it.

Let's look at it from a broader perspective and categorizing it into two:

U.S is number 1 followed by other top developed countries like Canada, U.K among others though their job is generally over priced but definitely good quality.

While India, Philippine, Pakistan takes the second place for cheap labor and averagely ok jobs based on your choice of candidate.

I have to agree with TrafficMaster101. I have moved towards native english speaking countries for my outsourcing. The reason in simple - the costs of outsourcing to none native countries seem to be rising and when you factor in having to explain every aspect of the project in detail to make sure that you are going to get what is expected it is simply much cheaper to outsource to the UK/US etc.

Well i think every seasoned outsource knows the answer to this.
It would be Native English Speaking country better yet Philippines.
Hired and worked with a few dozen of them hired them as technical support and virtual assistant and i must say Communication Wise - Top Notch, Working ethics - Much better and much cleaner rather than all those tier 1 countries ( no offense) and Money wise they are cheap and professional at what they do and does the job for that cheap XXX amount.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[8144571].message }}
  • For technical support, the Philippines would be your best bet. The number of BPOs and tech support people here are proof enough that this is the best place for outsourcing

I don't think you can specify this by country - there are talented guys in that arena in every country.

    The trick is finding them

      That's the point!

And they are around our own country...
Excellent quality, faster communications, less problems and cheaper in the long run.
However, that's the way worked for me.

I don't think it has to do with the country but the person. If they person can speak english and understand your instructions, it doesn't matter what country they're from if they do an awesome job. I would look at worker ratings and not their country, to be honest.

Phillipines from my experience. There are MANY hard-working people who are fluent in English and in the Phillipines the American Dollar and the Euro carry a lot of value so their rates are very cheap and competitive.

well, basically for outsourcing.. skills and experience are important!!

you have to count previous work, work quality, pricing, efficiency etc.

And for country?! I can say: it depends of pricing!! you will be able to get same product/services from different countries but there pricing will not be same :/

You have got opportunities to work with people from different part of the world and different people have got different experiences with outsourcing. Some people founded Indians very good others may prefer Pakistanis. Some will go for Philippines too. I think people from Asia are hard worker and they are very happy with lower payments.

    Anyone used payments.ph

A marketer on Warrior forum recommended it and he seems to know his stuff. Just wanted to get some other opinions. Odesk also looks good.

Do you like to pay for one time jobs or pay one person over the long-term?

I haven't used payment.ph. I pay most often using Xoom if it's to the
      Philippines.

I hire people long-term to do tasks that need doing over and over
again, often train the on exactly how I want the job done, and
      then keep them busy.

For one-time jobs, I often ask for recommendation from friends.

I think the OP is asking in general. Based on statistics, Philippines is the most competitive, fluent, has excellent work ethics compared to other non-English speaking countries. A lot of Japanese, South Koreans, and Chinese go to Philippines to study English and I think that is another reason why the country top other Asian countries...

It depends. I honestly think great workers are everywhere. I second the comment above, the trick is finding them. Here are some factors which you have to consider though.

    1. Experience - though it's great to give newbies a chance, if tasks are critical and hard, you have to find someone with experience related to the tasks. Examine their experiece well to make sure they are not bluffing or are over-exagerrating.

    2. Rate - most countries from India and Philippines bids really low rates. This is because their lifestyle is not costly as well. However, newbies from native-speakers also start with similar rates, so you'd really have to check.

Find someone with experience and a low rate and you're good to go!

    Hope this helps!

I have a corporate background in outsourcing large IT deals all over the world.

Check out my linked in profile to see what I have done.

Hands down for small business oriented work I would go to the Philippines.

If you really want to scale over the million/year in contractor spend, you should spread you work across countries including the U.S.

This will protect you from localized issues in government and acts of nature.

I find that freelancers from Germany provide quality work, at a relatively lowered rate. Its as good as it gets for outsourcing work.

Well, it depends. As for me, Asian people, especially Indians are hardworking and laborious as well as technically sound. Moreover they are ready to work in low wages.
So, I think without giving a second thought you must outsource your work to India for seeking technical assistance or support.

In the past, without sounding like too much of a generalisation, I have found freelancers from the Philippines a lot better to work with than Indians. Again, there are a lot of factors to keep in mind but I just found it a lot harder to communicate with the Indian freelancers based on my personal experience. I have only ever dealt with freelancers from India and the Philippines so far.
