Hi all,
Just joined WF and i can tell you its buzzing in here.
A friend of mine recently introduced me to Domaining and i figured its a good idea to make some extra cash. As with any other newbie i dove right in thinking that i will learn along the way. Two months down the line and 40 hand regs later and i cant seem to make a sale. He of course didn't tell me it's not all rosy.
Am stumped. need advice on how to make domain sales. Done a lot of reading but there's too much information to process out there.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

First of all, welcome to the Warrior Forum.

I have personally never done this type of business but the best thing you can do is to find someone who is already successful in this and learn everything you can. I am sure that if you do some research on Google, you will find some guys or ladies who are very successful at this and have some sort of a product that they teach others about this subject and how to be successful too.

I hope that this makes some sense to you.

Have you placed any of the domains in an auction? Might want to take your best ones and post here. Maybe someone would like to buy them.

You can advertise ("Classified Advertising" would probably be the place for that, rather than "complete sites for sale" - $20 either way), or you can have a signature-file link to a page/site/listing where they're offered for sale (no charge for that, but you mustn't then post to draw attention to your signature-file or start a thread on the subject without disabling your sig-file in it. I don't mean this thread: I can't imagine anyone would suggest you've done anything wrong starting this thread! ).

Domaining is definitely a tricky game and it's not something I've spent much time on. It sounds far easier than it is!

I would personally advise moving on from it but it depends how much knowledge you've picked up along the way. You could always just turn the domains into niche sites and sell them on for a small price if you're looking to recover your funds.

    Cheers

Been pondering the exact same thing although more in the line of developing small sites and seeing if i can get buyers/revenue. Definitely worthwhile.

I myself haven't ever flipped sites/domains but my friend has done a bit of it. It's not meant to be a quick cash thing, it's all about the long term profit. I'm sure there are some people out there very successful in it and possibly earning a full income from this alone.

Domaining is a very tricky business to get into, and you can waste a lot of money in it extremely easily.

I strongly do not recommend you to start investing heavy amounts of money into domains until after you have been in the online marketing space for many years.

I tell you this from a personal point of view, as a few years ago I wasted a few hundred dollars on domains I 'thought' were high quality, but it just turned out no-one wanted them. At this point, they have expired.

Imo its very difficult to do domain flipping these days.. Why dont you just build a site around those domains and sell the site?
