I'm looking to get into the coupon business.

I was wondering if there was any warrior's who have some prior experience in this niche.

I'm not exactly sure on how to get my hands on some coupons. I know CJ does. I was wondering if there was any other site's I could target.

I really want to narrow it down to my area. Would I have to send out e-mail's to shopping mall's, or to the main store's headquarter's?

I've got alot of question's regarding this domain.

The reason I fell into this niche was because I have a iPhone app idea. I think it's a big one in the advertising business.

So if anyone has any prior experience in the coupon niche, I would like to hear to hear your story.

Thanks,
Jay W.

There is software for that. You don't even have to have coupons they can be digital. And you can use other websites. Your coupon would be in your affiliate link.

I have dont coupon sites with digital coupons only, never a print coupon.
Do you already have the website up. When I did mine years ago the only real good script was OWS Deals/Coupons Website Script and that is the one I used, I still suggest those guys.

Well there are different types of coupon websites. Some where someone just list a bunch of web coupons around for people, then there are ones where people talk about the coupon deals and how they got them.

Now if it's the first, then I found finding those coupons are usually done by hunting them down online. The other one (which is what extreme couponers use) often consist of couponers getting newspapers and everything else that they can and using the deals then taking pictures of the receipts etc.

So simply saying "Looking to get into the coupon business" is actually pretty vague. There are even coupon books that people can buy to save hundreds. there are so many ways. Are you trying to get specific coupons? have a niche? Thinking of making a coupon book yourself? want to offer people coupons to have people print from your website? Just interested in Digital coupon codes that you just apply to websites at checkout? Each one of these options open up even more questions but I hope this long winded post actually points you in the right direction

With digital coupon's, are you able to walk into a store and use it? or does digital coupons work only through the internet? I want to offer coupons so people can use it. My first target market is my facebook friends and twitter friends. There going to be local people. Knowing most of them, they don't do much of there shopping online. Would printable one's be the best for them. I would assume it would be hard to track a printable coupon.

Yes they sure can print and walk into stores with the coupons in question. Check out sites like thekrazycouponlady.com that allows you to print coupons and take them into the store.

Printable coupons are usually tracked by the manufacturers, rather than yourself. Problem is most wont want to deal with you until you have at least started earning a steady stream of traffic.

There are other solutions however like https://brandcaster.coupons.com/home/ that will essentially have you add it to your site, then you send people to your site and you get a cut when they print and use the coupon.

I would look at the current market for this type of product. In your area it may be different but I have seen a lot of competition, consolidation and sell outs.
