First 3 sales of own product - sigh of relief!

This isn't one of those "I have done it, so can you threads", I just thought it may be of interest to some. I was very much someone who would set up sites to try and drive traffic to affiliate sites, but as soon as I started being a bit more creative with my thinking, I've started to make bigger steps forward.

When doing some keyword research I found a very specific medical condition that had one badly marketed ebook as the only product (it's connected to sexual health) that I could find.

Only a couple of hundred daily searches for the keywords, but not much competition at all.

1. Outsourced ebook writing, but edited and formatted it myself

2. Set up site which will eventually drive organic traffic to the sales page (outsourced the content)

3. Logos and banners created on Fiverr

4. Created sales page myself (used Robert Plank's Paper Template as the basis)

5. Used a Google adwords voucher to send traffic to the sales page whilst I'm working on free traffic sources

6. Made 3 sales in first 3 days ($27 price), converting at around 2% (remember this is based on a sales page I wrote myself, and I'm not a copywriter, and also remember I'm not a ppc expert).

The market for this product isn't big enough to attract affiliates or sell via Clickbank, but I'm confident I'll be able to get to three or four sales a day.

It's certainly given me confidence to be more adventurous with my endeavours, and I've already identified a more ambitious membership site project.
