Default Newbie Makes A Sale - It's About Time

So, like many newbies on WF, I have been reading through various posts, trying to learn what I can. Two weeks ago, I decided to pick one technique and give it an honest effort.

I must admit that I was getting pretty discouraged after seeing hundreds of hops and zero sales (from my new campaigns - one of my blogs will actually make a sale from time to time). I ran across a post today that encouraged everyone to update their Clickbank links, so I did.

And guess what? Less than 5 hours later, I actually made a sale! I have never been so happy about $25 in my life. My excitement is somewhat limited because now I wonder if I did not lose some sales by having the old links.

No worries though. I just thought I would share! Thanks for all the help that you guys freely give here. It is much appreciated!

Congratulations....it's always great to hear success stories. It's amazing how we get excited about seeing things work rather than great financial gain.

Good for you. I remember when I set something up and went out for supper, come back and I had made $14 while I was out. I called everybody and told them. It is so exciting.

Good job!

...but what exactly do you mean by "having the old links"?

Congratulations on a job well done! By the way, you mentioned that you made a sale just hours after you updated your Clickbank links. This brings to mind a separate thread on the controversy whether there is something fishy going on with Clickbank. Could it really be true that when an affiliate's Clickbank sales are lethargic it can be revived by merely updating the Clickbank links? Is this a mere coincidence?

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Now I need to 'wash and repeat' like everyone says.

By switching out the old links, I just mean I used the new 'cloaked hop' instead of the old name.product.etcetcetc links that clickbank would generate for you.

That right there sets you apart from most newbies. Get good at one method before moving on to something else. Works wonders for your progress in this game.

Now, time for me to get out the "absorbing" phase and get into the "implementation" phase.

Yap, having old links is never a good idea. Just make sure to make up for your past mistakes in the future.

Congrats! What an awesome feeling! My family thought I was nuts when I called to tell them that I finally made $.50 on the ebay partner network. It just keeps getting better.

Thanks all. I appreciate the words of encouragement. I spent 4 hours tonight putting together the finishing touches on a new campaign. Hopefully in a few days I will be able to see some traffic (and maybe some hops).

Thanks again.

Congratulations! I love to read such post.

You have just position yourself among the top few per cent who has started making money. Find out what works for you and ask yourself how you can scale it better and wider.

Cheers,

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I would ask a question here.

Without using PPC or any type of paid advertising, is it possible to be making $1,000 a month by the end of 2009? I have read numerous success stories here, but most of the time people take what they earn, outsource it to make more and then move on to something completely different; like PPC.

If I elected to stick to using only using cheaper methods (url redirect on ezinearticles, Squidoo, Blogger and setting up a few niche blogs set up with Wordpress), am I setting my goal too high?

Thanks for all your input. I value (and appreciate) it all and will take action (continue to act that is)!

You could do that. But if you're "working alone", it might take just too much efforts to push your income higher. If you spend even $200 from your $1000/per month, you can begin pushing your monthly income from $1000 to $2000, and so forth.

I am definitely not setting the world on fire, but using a few simple techniques found on WF, I have now made a sale in each of the past three weeks. It is hard work but I am finally seeing more traffic, more hops and more importantly a couple sales.

I just wanted to thank you guys (and girls) again!

grats I just checked and after a slow week i actually made a sale today. It would be 100% impossible for me if the "old" hoplinks wouldn't work anymore - i'd need to change MANY sites and links...
