my first spam on blog

INTERNET MARKETING

I have one article on a wordpress account I just set-up. I am new to IM.

I found this one comment today,

"Canada Outlet store offer all the fashion style Lululemon clothing,click here lululemon clothing <a href="http://www.acabiodiversity.ca/contactus.htm" title="lululemon clothing" rel="nofollow">lululemon clothing</a>"

with a Gollum voice: butttt whatttttttissssss ettttttttttttt?? :confused:

What is it guys?? How did it find my blog? Does this mean I am already indexed? I have like 0 visitors on my site according to jetpack.

  I don't know what all of the fuss about getting six pack abs is all about. It's simple...just drink beer! :p

It means, your blog post were found by some software and blasted with the comment. Wordpress is very strict against spam. This kind of comments always appears in the spam folder which is very good to maintain a neat and clean blog.

I see these things a lot on my blogs. I even get them on my blogs that don't have ANY content on them! My suggestion would be to not worry about it and mark it as spam. It is a regular thing for bloggers so don't expect it to go away.

Saying that, you can get rid of a lot of your spam by putting in a CAPTCHA box. They have plugins for it if you are using wordpress.

I installed a free hash-based plugin that kills comment spam. Akismet sucks.

for my wordpress sights I just use a plugin that stops sam works wonders

I never accept a comment with a link it it could hurt my blog

Yeah these comments are a constant pain, better start getting used to them. The annoying part comes when you have to sift through hundreds of spam comments in Akismet to find the comments that are genuine ones but have been spammed by mistake.

You can simply install a captcha plugin like SI Captcha to get ride of this issue.

Some software that spams blogs with comments found your website. I get a few of those comments every month - nothing to worry about. Just flag them as spam and move on. Make sure you have a good anti-spam filter installed and everything should be good.

Thank god Akismet is there to block all these spam comments otherwise our live as a blogger would have been a nightmare. But I have one suggestion. If you disable comments on posts more than 1 year old you will get far less spam comments. Try it out.

  I just activated Akismet on my blog sites a few days ago and all spam has been blocked. I was getting at least 2-3 spam comments per day on each site. I also noticed that I have not seen any legitimate comments since then either. I will have to look into that as per comments posted on this thread about Akismet blocking legitimate comments.
