making big amazon review site worthwhile?

So I was thinking about making a large review site. One where I add a new product review everyday from any category. Would this work?

That's a pretty broad question lol. But sure, it'll work as long as you can get targeted traffic to the reviews

Can you afford to buy all the products you are going to review? Or are you just going to write fake reviews without trying the product?

        Pretty narrow-minded thinking.

You don't need to actually own a product to provide useful information to readers. However, this assumes you know something about the niche you are writing about.

        For example:

I've been in the IT industry for pushing 20 years. If I wanted to do a review site about laptops/servers, does that mean I'd need to actually own them to provide helpful info such as...
        • Explanations of CPU specs
        • Explanations of memory usage
        • Explanations of motherboard architecture
        • Explanations of best use cases
        • Comparisons of different models & features
        • etc, etc, etc...

to readers? Of course not. Why? Because I'm a subject-matter expert. I understand the differences between models and have a firm grasp of different feature sets and how they compare to each other. By providing this info to readers, I can help them with their buying decision and make commissions while doing so.

Just because someone doesn't own something doesn't make the review "fake". What makes it fake is when you try to couch your review as being based on first-hand usage when it is, in fact, not.

Basically, no. A review site needs just a single category for each related keyword to work correctly.

Think about how you are going to structure your site based on SEO. In other words, how will people find your site when they are looking for specific products?

The answer is to build a network of sites. You can still do this from one domain, by using subdomains dedicated to specific product types.

Then focus each subdomain review site to specific keywords and give a category to each keyword. That way visitors to your site for a particular product type won't be distracted by other, unrelated reviews. And the Search Engines will be able to deliver results to 'net surfers related to their searches.

You can interlink these sites, of course, using related keyword based links for those products in the same niche. For example bread makers could link to toasters and kitchen implements and so on.

It sounds like a lot of work but it's not too difficult once you set up your first site as you can then clone it. I'm working on a similar strategy right now!

Yes, a broad site will certainly work. Remember, you SEO pages, not sites. Just break your site out in different categories and target products that you know u can rank for.

    Hey Corey

Yes that would work but you could also do as Jpaston says. There are multiple ways of creating a good Amazon site.

An authority site is a long term site that you can build up over time and gain authority as time passes and this will continue to help you rank better for products as your gain authority in Googles eyes.
