I learned a long time ago that nothing lasts forever. As Google has come out with their new updates all the time more and more people are coming to terms with the end of their online business. Even if it wasn't for Google though there is an end to everything.

Have you thought of the end for your business? What will it look like? I don't mean will you be on a beach or some other tropical island. I mean what do you want to do with your business in the end? Is it something you want to pass down, sell off, or just let it ride until you die and then leave it up for grabs?

With no children to pass my business down to and family being somewhat distant I am thinking I will let it ride until I die and then it can go the way of the dinosaur when I am gone.

I have to admit I am a little depressed about that though. It's sort of like saying "He came, he saw, he left....the end." I guess there is little in the way of making a lasting mark on the world these days though. Still it would be nice to make some kind of impact that will last after I am gone.

Depends on the type of business you are running.

If you are peddling products that sell "dreams" of riches then yes, it may be a bit difficult to make a mark on the world.

But if you are genuinely working to help people improve their lives, or helping businesses improve their bottom line, then you are boosting many different aspects of the world all at once.

Just remember you can't take the money with you, but what you can do is leave a mark and also pass that mark down or sell it to someone else who will continue the legacy.
