Today I've been promoted at work to the position of project manager. I've been given the task of setting up a blog network. Now while I'm chuffed to bits that my boss has put his faith in me I'm also anxious to do a good job for him. The thing is, I don't have any experience in project management just bags of enthusiasm and a willingness to learn coupled with an interest for the subject matter. Any tips from you guys would be most appreciated. To give you a clearer idea of what is required, I'm to set up a blog network simialr to the one at b5media.com although on a much smaller scale and not as developed of course - for now. The idea is that I set up 20 blogs in niche areas which are most likely to attract the most advertising. My ideas so far are: 1. Blogging 2. Xbox 360 3. Fat loss 4. Muscle building 5. Photography 6. Internet marketing 7. Blog for men, gadgets, sport, etc 8. Blog for women, beauty tips etc 9. Science fiction/fantasy films etc 10. Cars 11. Pets 12. Mens health 13. Womens health 14. Music Could I have your opinions please and any advice, tips on setting up would also be really helpful. |

Step 1. Ask your boss what the budget is. Step 2. Divide that budget by 22 Step 3. Visit forums on each of your niches and source bloggers. Step 4. Offer them work-at-home pay for quality blog posts up to your budget limit Step 5. Register keyword rich domains for each niche and install wordpress Step 6. Get your niche bloggers creating content on each blog Step 7. Start submitting your blogs to all of the engines, directories, blogrolls, etc Step 8. Figure a way of monetising your traffic Step 9. Collect revenue from the blogs Step 10. Pay your bloggers more money for more content (repeat steps 7 - 10 over and over) It's pretty unrealistic of your 'boss' to ask for all of this at once. You're just going to spread yourself too thin. But if your life depended on it, I'm sure you could pull it off. Good luck buddy! |

First thing you need to do is do some research over each of those niches. Take the time to figure out which niche are too saturated at the moment. As the more saturated your niches are the harder it is going to be to break through and get success in those niches. Once, you find your niche, then you are going to have to get tons and tons of content for your niche. You are going to either come up with all the content which is alot if you are doing 22 blogs, or hire some nice writers. We can help you with content writing if you need the help as we have a great content writing staff. Just let us know if you need any other help. |

Hello NicholasThanks, that's some really good helpfull info there. At the risk of sounding dumb though - why do I need to devide the budget by 22? The boss has already hired some writers to do the majority of the blog posts and writing and also things like seo and website creation. He's a pretty chilled out kind of guy as well and doesn't really put any pressure on us all here so I should be ok.

divide by 22 because you'll need a budget for 20 blogs and the rest will go towards domain names. If you have a staff of writers, designers and optimisers then there isnt much else you need to little-ed. Good luck with everything |

![]() I've got the writing part covered I think but I will certainly keep you in mind if the content isn't up to scratch. I'm currently researching places like Clickbank and Paydotcom to find the best sellers in every niche then I'm checking out in Google how many people are advertising in these related markets. Any other tips would be very welcome

You could hire a blogging professional here or in your area, or outsource the contents, there are good writers here.

Yeah I've pretty much got the content and writing elements covered thanks. It was the initial setting up of a blog network that I needed information on as I've never really done project management before. Cheers |
