What do people normally do when they sell a website?

Alright pardon me for all my newbie questions, but Im quite curious what do people actually do when they sell a website. Do they transfer the domain name and hosting account to the buyer or what?

    Yep - it takes about 5 minutes to transfer everything even when the site is a blog. Of course, that is depending on getting all the correct information from the buyer in the first place which rarely happens so it usually ends up being a series of emails back and forth before you actually get to be able to transfer the site!

      Hello,

      They transfer the domain to the new owner and then will either FTP in their files to their new hosting company or they will give them access to that hosting company.

      Either one works, it just depends what is stated in the agreement.
