Amazon Kindle Question

Hey guys,

I want to put clickable links in my amazon kindle ebooks. I started doind this just as with normal ebooks with hyperlinking in word. However I got a few reviews on different books who said they weren't clickable so I don't know how to do it right.

Thanks,

I would also start looking for issues in formatting. Did you save your manuscript as a webpage (HTML) before converting into .mobi? If you didn't you should.

stephanreek, I think you should contact Amazon Kindle support in that regard. They should be able to help you. Be aware that Amazon doesn't allow you to have every type of links especially affiliate links. Links to your other books should be fine.

I've never had a problem with clickable links when using Word.

Sometimes, it's the other things you do when you import text into your book for example, that can mess up your clickable links and formatting. If you copy and paste text into Word for your book, make sure that you aren't also pasting the "source formatting".

I am just using word and sometimes a pdf file. How does that saving as webpage and converting to .mobi work? Cause I am just uploading as word file or pdf file.

How about converting it to a .mobi first and checking it in Amazon's free previewer or online Kindle app to see if it is working.

I always convert mine and then read the book again checking each link as I go thru it before uploading to Amazon.

I always start with a Word doc, save it as a Web Page, Filtered, then upload/convert that HTML file with Mobipocket Creator and I've never had any problems with links.

    Doubt everything you believe.

I do same, but instead of converting the HTML file with Mobipocket Creator I just drag-and-drop it into Kindle Previewer window to convert.
