Default Newbie Requesting a Site Review please!

I recently started an IM website onlinewealthcanada dot com. Yesterday I posted a thread asking for suggestions and comments, and cannot find the thread anywhere, even when I search with my user name??? so here I am trying again. My site has been live for a week now, and I would so much appreciate comments and/or suggestions from all of you please?

It looks like you have some good info on your site. You might want to figure out a way to center align the whole site though. That may just be my preference.

Also, my browser can be weird on this laptop but your menu bar doesn't really line up right. The words of the menu overlap with the bottom gradient - if that makes sense.

The thread seems to have been deleted - probably because a first post that asks people to go to your site seems promotional....and the site redirects to an affiliate page of another site....not good.

To find your own posts click on "userCP" in toolbar and "your profile" and then search for your posts in the statistics tab.

Hi Debbie...I've got a few comments for you:

1. The graphic header doesn't jive with what the content is all about...it confuses me.

2. The pop-up comes up so fast. It asks me if I want more info about the site but at that point, I don't even know what the site is all about.

3. The header is too big...I would reduce it to a max of 150 pixels high...you want more copy above the fold.

4. Instead of the big, Online Wealth Canada graphic, I would replace that with a headline that makes it clear why your site will benefit me. It's not clear and I think people might click away.

5. If people don't click away, they'll be tempted to start clicking around all the links you have under the header. I would put those on the bottom and take away the left sidebar links as well.

6. I would also improve the copy you have on the homepage. More benefit-oriented. Answer the question: "What's in it for me?" so visitors will want to stick around.

7. I would put the opt-in box after your new, benefit-driven copy so visitors will be able to justify why they should give you their info. Better yet, offer them a free report so as to compel them to leave their info.

That's about it right now. There's more I could say but I've gotta get back to work.

Good luck with the site!!

I would turn the freebie page into more of a squeeze page i.e. ask for their email address in return for them getting a free document. Also make the free documents PDFs, that's just the norm these days.

And maybe show the ecovers on the shop page, just looks more appealing rather than solid text.

Good luck with it :-)

It's alright. I suggest you use the updated thesis WP theme, it's good for pages like this. Download some free logo design software to redo your header. Your current logo is too simple and doesn't give off a professional vibe.

I am sure this has already been addressed. From what it looks like to me is you are using a table which has that little smiley in the left side. Here is how I would fix that text being pushed to the right side as it is now. Keep the current table but add one directly below it with 3 columns place your heading and your main content in the middle one. You can then adjust the exact location of where you want the text to be with spaces on either side of the table.

I also agree with the person that said the header graphic does't fit the content. I would focus that on something thing to do with a location in canada or something to do with wealth. The header graphic if I was basing the page off of that alone. I would think something to do with telemarketing or business. We want to focus more on the location or wealth. This will target you set group much better.

Hope that helps. Its just my honest Opinion.
