Default How do I convert Scanned jpeg text into Word

Hello folks,
I have a scanned copy of a book wherein the text is in jpeg format. I was wondering if there is any software or services that convert into text. Please advise.

Thanks,
Dan

Have you tried googling the keyword - 'image to text software' ?

I tried this once with PDF to text. But not much luck. So I am not sure how image to text will work.

It would have been easy if it was printed out.
I remember how I scanned a document once(it was from a magazine) and the scanner software asked me for a choice whether I wanted it as a text or an image and I easily got it in text format and I didnt have to type it out.

So,maybe check out if your scanner software can help with this.

Hope this helps.

You're looking for OCR software. Google should turn up some options for you.

Have you tried Microsoft Word and used the 'acquire text' facility. I find this works very well.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
