Here is what AC is saying....

This content is being removed because it contains affiliate links - links to businesses and/or organizations from which you or an affiliated party stand to profit. (6 Sources of Omega 3, etc.)

Here is what I emailed them...

"Why are you guys removing articles that point to domains that I own? There are no affiliate links and the item is free. If I pointed an article to a domain I own and it has adsense... don't I stand to make profit if they click adsense? Sometimes you guys don't have a clue at what your doing...."

Whats the deal with article sites being so critical about this. I have no affiliate links in my article, no affiliate links in my resource box, and the page they land on is for a free ebook. The part where they say "stand to profit" is so stupid. Thats why I remarked about adsense...

I've had articles denied before by a certain EDITOR I guess that seem to think my own domains are affiliate links. Then I resubmit them with no problem. Anyone else get this kinda crap? I don't get traffic from AC so I'm not really to worried about it, but come on....

K... I'm done ranting lol..

So, you don't stand to profit from someone visiting your page?

If not, then why send them there?

If so, then you are in violation of the rules you agreed to when you submitted your article.

I'm not saying it's logical, but I don't see anything wrong with AC's stance on this. Even your response to them sounds like they WOULD remove a site you own if it had AdSense on it.

The thing is, AC exists to make money for AC, not you. It sucks sometimes, but you can always post articles in other places.

    All the best,

Yeah, I'm not going to use AC anymore. I have around 27 articles pointing to my domains with no affiliate links. The whole point of submitting an article is to drive traffic. The whole point in driving traffic is to STAND A PROFIT, if this violates AC's rules then maybe I should of read them huh? haha....

No but really, they are on display only on AC, they haven't said anything about other articles pointing to similar pages that I have submitted like 5 months ago. Maybe after my email, they will start removing my articles 1 by 1.

If this violates their rules... then I wasted my time because I didn't read them, I realize that is my fault. But what's funny is, I can go around AC and find plenty of articles that DO have the affiliate link in the body of the article. Maybe they haven't caught them yet or w/e. They don't like replying to emails either.

So I guess I couldn't point them to a blog where I have adsense? Or Banners? Come on dude.. .that don't make sense... lol

I'm not saying it makes sense, or cents!

You will find a lot articles on most directories that violate the CURRENT terms of service. A lot of times this is because they will change those terms, and grandfather in existing articles.

It's also not that uncommon for article directories to have rules about linking to sites within your articles.

As far as their terms go, you're right, you could not point to such sites. You could howver, point to those sites IF you have nothing to gain from them. I know, I know, it doesn't make sense, but that's the way AC is.

I think you are on the right track. Stop using AC if it doesn't work for you, and find better places to show your articles.

      Yeah I totally agree...

I have like 2 visits every other day from AC, where the exact same articles on EZINE i get around 20 visits a day. I'm totally dropping AC here on out. I never really produced any traffic with them at all anyways.

But if more article directories where strict like this, to where you couldn't submit an article to a site where you stand to make profit, I think people wouldn't be writing articles anymore lol..

AC is in their own world I guess.
