Looking for text to speech children voices

Hi Warriors,

I am looking for a software that does text to speech in children's voices.

The age group would be 13 years old.

I have found many but none that have the capabilities of children's voices.

Thank you,

David

Not sure if there is a solution out there that will deliver what you're looking for, assuming you want authentic and human, real sounding voice overs. Not robotic.

My first inclination is to say to hire it out. But there might be legal issues having 13 year olds in your employ. Probably best to find a smart kid in the family who'd like a few bucks. Or a friend's smart kid.

      Marc,

You hit the nail on the head!

I contacted a kid on one of those out source services and I told him via email, I only wanted to speak to him if his parent (1 of them) was on the conversation.

The video he sent for a demo was a public service announcement and I think he may have been some kind of agent.

I would never talk to any minor on the phone without having a parent or guardian to listen.

When he wrote back is that necessary to have a parent, I told him absolutely.

      He never wrote back.

That's where I stand right now. Looking for a text to speech but yet to find one.

      Thanks for responding, Marc.

Or just do like the porn industry does - someone doesn't have to be 13 to to sound young. I'm sure there are plenty of cheap people on Fiverr who can do it, just listen to how they sound on their videos.

  • If you Google text to speech children's voices, you will get some results.

Just so you know, an adult voice when pitched up, will sound like a kid.
If your software allows for pitch adjustments, you'd be surprised at the results.

Being an Audio guy, I work with my 6 year old daughter and record allot of her.

At times for fun when editing, I lower her pitch, and she sounds just like me,
or I higher my pitch, and I almost sound like her. Erie, but a fact.

Either way, there seems to be solutions out there.

Let me google that for you

Thank you for that reply, I never thought they could get me to sound like a kid, again.

^Yeah I was gonna say if you record a T2S track in Audacity you can adjust the pitch to make it more childlike.

with the current technology that would sound extra creepy. That being said, even the regular text to voice sounds bad.

I recommend you, Fiverr it. I'm sure you could contact a 'mom' and ask if you could have her child read your content.

      Aizaku,

      I don't think Fiverr would do a 24 minute speech for $5.

      Maybe, they would.

      Thanks for reply.

I've never heard of any text-to-speech software that features children's voices. The best one that i've came across and used is something called "Natural Reader". It's the best on the market in my opinion.

Actually you should probably just do what stolting recommended. Just deliberately enunciate, stumble over, and sometimes mispronounce words like a child would.

It might be difficult at first, but you talked that way once! Then put it in your editor. Raise the pitch and you'll probably meet all of your needs. Plus, while saving time looking for the right person for the job.

But in the meantime, look for someone who will enunciate like a child on purpose for you, like you would do, and raise THEIR pitch, so you're working towards freeing up your time.

Of course, again, without having to wait for finding right person.

But who knows, it might be something easy to find. Like perhaps an elementary school teacher who is used to talking that way, who doesn't understand that children just want to be talked to like adults.

Which is probably 80% of people who talk to children for a living. Easy to find.
