Hello!

I'm still green behind the ears, so please be gentle.

I would like to know if many of you in the IM market use Pinterest?

Thanks for your replies

Well I think people on Pinterest are looking more for cooking and arts but you should try it!! If that doesn't work, try facebook and facebook ads! Hope this helped.

Thanks Dylan, but time is too precious at the moment to try out new things. I trust the experience of people on this Forum instead.

    Hi Nicole
Just a heads up, there are many other forums here that deal with specific topics,
eg: Pinterest Just have a look on the Home Page...

    Social Media Marketing Forum
By popular demand we now have a section to discuss all things Social Media - Facebook, Twitter, Google +, RebelMouse etc.

    Hi Nicole,

Pinterest can be very valuable for a huge variety of niches, and the number of men and male pastime categories is increasing also.

Pinterest is also hugely valuable for audience research, to find out what your target niche are responding to the most.

I average about 3000-3500 visitors from Pinterest a month to one blog, so it absolutely is valuable, but like everything, you'll want to develop a strategy and not just random pinning time with no objectives.

You're better off selling catalog items geared towards the demographic of Pinterest: women. Pay attention to the top pins. See what they have in common.

I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but majority of Pinterest users are women.

I don't think the IM market is good for Pinterest. I have had good results in other markets using Pinterest . I have a natural health site that gets almost 200 views a day just form Pinterest alone.

I also have friends that do very will with cooking sites on Pinterest.

The real trick with any market is to go where they hang out. Forums and popular blogs will give you good results if you are knowledgeable about your niche.

I'm constantly surprised at the amount of traffic my small amount of pins generates. Come winter I'm going to build on it some more.

Its better for retailers and people selling physical products, because you can show the product.
