In Your Experience, is there an average hop before you get a sale?

Hi Warriors!

Have you noticed any average hops before you get a sale for products you promote?

I know there are too many factors to consider. Like pre-selling (how good it was), saleability of the product, quality of landing page.

Still I was wondering if you can give an estimate, so I can also estimate how much traffic I must generate before I can expect any sales.

This will help much.

Thanks,

oMar

This definitely depends on way too many factors. It will depend on the chosen niche, the chosen product, your various methods of promotion etc...

I can say for me personally with clickbank, I convert about 1 in 40 or so. I should but I don't keep close track

I look at between 100 to 200 hops for a sale.

It could be all over the board. I've seen 1 out of 3, 1 out of 10, 1 out of 40. with some products you may expect 1 out of 300 which just means there is a lot of demand but not paying demand

TOTALLY DEPENDS bro. Your conversion funnel has to be good...
    and so does the merchants.

There is no average hop amount before sale..

All things being equal (good targeting of keywords, warmish traffic, good copy, well pre-sold and a good offer).. I will usually look at 2-250 hops... But that isn't set in stone and each niche will throw up different curve balls..

One thing is for sure, you need to keep bringing those eyeballs to offers and test as you go along.

    Peace

      Another thing to think about...

When dealing with averages, humans tend to inject patterns where none exist.

The classic case is flipping a coin. Over long periods of time, the average will tend to approach half heads and half tails. During that time, you'll also see stretches where heads comes up many times in a row. Same for tails.

Depending on where you take your snapshot, you could come up with all kinds of averages.

So linm says it's usually one sale per 40 hops. That doesn't mean that if you don't get a sale in 40 hops you should quit. It just means that over a period of time, that's what the trend is.

If you really want to know, do some research on statistical significance and confidence. You'll come up with a number that says that, for example, if you sample 40 hops 100 times, you can expect similar results 95 times out of 100. You'd have 95% confidence that the average is dependable over the long haul.

Now before I get things totally confused, I'm going to quit and just recommend getting Paul Hancox's ebook on testing. Great section on statistics.

First of all, do you have a website?
If yes, then it can be easy.

I have had sales from just 9 hops but recently i promoted a product
which had over 800 hops without a sale.

I queried clickbank on this and guess what...The next day I got a sale
