Hi! I am in need of advice please...

Hi everyone,

Today I was able to purchase a website, howdowepray.com, whose keywords get an enormous number of monthly searches (I was really praying I'd find one as I searched with the Google Keyword Tool - LOL). Prayer is a subject that greatly interests me and I'd like to share on my site what has helped me in my life and give away a free ebook to build a subscriber list. I'll monetize the list every now and then with products that really help me personally. I've been on and off the warrior forum for a while now, but still have a lot to learn. I've followed various IM teachers in the past and found them to not be very helpful although I spent months studying and applying what they taught. From the research I've been doing lately, it appears that Andrew Hansen, Sara Young, Jennifer Ledbetter, Matt Carter and a few others are honest, caring people who I would now have more luck with. But I'm not sure if what they teach will help me with what I want to do with my website. I could also build my site with sitesell.com and learn as I go there - at the same time fully realizing the weaknesses of that site that I have read about in my research here at WF. Or is there a WSO that might be more helpful? Any advice would be much appreciated...

I don't ever give up because if I persevere I always eventually find answers that work in my life. I like "failing my way to the top" as someone once said since I'm really good at failing - LOL.

Thanks!

It's no good expecting a WSO or someone else to tell you how/what to do with your site and magically expecting it to work. It won't.

All the information you need is on this forum. Just get started and you will soon learn what you enjoy doing/writing about. Learn about seo. Learn how to get visitors. Don't expect someone else to hold you by the hand and tell you what to do. It aint gonna happen.

Well, if that's where your passion is, you will find a way to make it work. Personally I'm just starting a blog to sell stuff about product creation. So in my pursuit to learn how to drive traffic via setting up a blog, I pretty much just searched this forum and looked up every way to drive traffic.

Unfortunately it's not a quick task, so I recommend you get started soon. Just type into Google site:warriorforum.com best free traffic technique or single best way to drive free traffic. Doing so I walked away with 3 pages of step by step notes. There is a lot of repeat information so it's not hard to narrow it down. And it doesn't really change over the years, at all.

At the end of the day, you're going to have to do things like choose keywords, create content around those keywords, put them on your blog, and backlink to them. Once you have something that's starting to look like an authority site, it will be easier to do things like get your guest blog posts on other's sites. But you better be ready to buckle down.

In the meantime, this is kind of a related subject to your interests. There's a man named Lyman Wood who used to sell Rabbit feet by mail order, until the government cracked down on him because he was making outrageous promises. Well, as it turns out, you can say anything you want about prayers, so he started selling prayers instead.

The guy is a very smart cookie when it comes to selling, and he wrote it all down in a book many many many moons ago. You might want to read it so you can get a feel for what your audience might be interested in. Anyway the book is called What a Way to Make a Living: the Lyman Wood Story.

Obviously you're not going to run your business like this guy, but he made a fortune in a very related field. You should check it out.

    Thanks!

    Marc

Traffic is always good, you should look into different traffic strategies, both free and paid.

You might find it harder to monetize this demographic than you might think.

You would probably be better off with PPC ads like Adsense.

Praying is not something commercial. I agree that it will be hard to sell to this audience, but not impossible if you have something really helpful to offer.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your keyword is a dud, it only gets 170 exact match searches a month. That's not worth your time...

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

      Thanks, everyone, for your advice!

If the phrase "how do we pray" gets 2.7 million searches per month, isn't it likely that my site come up near the top of Google when people search for this phrase if I have developed the site?
