Always heard this and ready to have a real good go at building mine in the dating niche.

Free book written, website built, paid product ready, squeeze page, sales copy and 5 autoresponder emails being written as I type.

Tried double opt in before with little success so will not go that way again.

Can you tell us more about your sales numbers and list size? And what kind of content did you broadcast?

A great idea Man....It's human nature that wherever there is numbers,there is value.
I believe that a bigger list will work a great deal when it comes to matters sales.
I am yet to build mine and i am really exited to working on it!

Yes, the money is in the list. I've done well from my lists. Only regret is not building my lists sooner.

You are not giving us explanations that could help us understand how you could make so many sales.

You were building a list ‘over the last while’ and you sent a broadcast and you sold many products just like that?

You must be an internet marketing genius.

There is money in the list, true enough, but if you don't build a solid relationship with that list, you're going to kill yourself trying to keep up with the attrition. The real money is in the relationship that you have built with that list.

Nice to hear another success from list building. I started three years ago and riding the horse till now. List building is what gave me my place in Internet marketing.

The first three sales I made took me to the seventh sky. Only the quality of the offer doesn't matter but how you mail out the presentation to your list decides the results more. keep that in mind.

Try to make good relations with your subscribers and the money will not forget your bank address.

As someone pointed out earlier in the thread; the money is not in the list, it's in the RELATIONSHIP you have with that list.

You can have the largest list, but if they don't like and trust you, they won't buy from you.

Congrats on your sales. Make sure you continue to mail to your list often, and keep them in your autoresponder sequence for a LONG time (like 365 days, or until they subscribe).

By doing this, you'll be able to convert the very early subscribers of your's who wasn't ready to buy from you yet, but the more you contact them, the more they will see that you're someone that they should probably buy from since you've been delivering them good information for all of these months.

Repetitive contact even farther into the future will boost your conversion rates. But congrats, and keep up the good work!

Anyone that tells you not to build a list, is 1) insane 2) not building their own list.

I remember myself, kept coming back to the warrior forum looking for the shiney object, but it was right there all along. I built a list and my whole world changed. In one of my niches I now have over 80k subscribers...yes Ok not all of them open and read, but I can pretty much sit down, spend about 20 mins writing a good email and sending it out and guarentee to make about min $1000 or so from this.

Even when I send an email plugging nothing I can make sales. HOW? by helping my subscribers who ask questions.

The more time you spend building lists, the better you get, the better you get at segmentation and the more sales you will make. Its a gimmie really. Can vouche for it all the way to the bank.

And to OP, congrats you just took a step most people are not willing to do, now all you need to do is build bigger lists and give them better stuff, then come back and tell us how you made your first 100k. You can even do that with a small list too.

Too many of us "OVER THINK" the whole process of
list building.

Which is to build a list!

That is the one key focus here.

Learning hoe to monetize that list can be done in a step by
step fashion and process.

But getting off the ground is absolutely ESSENTIAL!

Just look at what was said in the 1st post (newcomers especially)

1. He has been focusing on building a list 100% for a set amount of time.

2. He then sent a 'BROADCAST' message and he instantly saw some
sales.

That is as simple as it gets.

No need to over complicate things.

Yes you need to learn some basic skills but nothing to really
get worried about guys.

Get building, build trust, build relationship, build responsiveness
and see sales from your own/affiliate recommendations.

Well congrats, but it is also very important to point out here that the things u did to get those subscribers on your list are extremely important. They go a long way in kick-starting a 'good' relationship with them. Make vague claims in your ads and squeeze pages - and you are in no man's land already

I once built a list that had no desire to learn anything from emails, they just wanted to buy.

Instead of doing more of the same techniques that built that list, I beat that list into the ground. It was still profitable even at 25 subscribers.

When it hit 24 subscribers, I took it out back, shot it, and buried it.

Probably not the best strategy, if I had to guess.

I kinda feel bad for that old horse nowadays.

I would say that the money is not in the list itself, but in the relationship you have with the people on that list.

If only it were really that simple then every single Warrior with a list would be making money but they aren't. Most can't make a dime by following your simple strategy there because they are missing all the other fundamental pieces of the puzzle that make up successful email marketing.

Everyone is so focused on the 'list building' aspect i.e. getting as many subscribers as they can they miss the overall picture. It's about much more than building a list. It's about building a responsive list, mastering email marketing, building trust and a relationship, giving your subs value and showing you are a real person with knowledge on the subject they want to hear about.

Congrats on the success. List building is the way to go. Once you have built a solid list of 5K plus, you can really begin to produce a solid income stream. The key is to build a relationship with your list and don't just pump them with sales pitches. You want to provide good content and useful information. This builds trust and they actually want to read your emails. Once you have that, you can print money at will.

For me what works BEST is a buyers list... period.

Let me illustrate... I did a small test to a newly created list (freebie seekers... yes I did the free report thingy) of only 54 people by sending an email that I know "converts" on the buyer's list...

I resent another email the following the day to the people that did NOT even open my email (38 out of 54...) and guess what happened...

Out of 38, none opened and I had 1 complaint!

Two keys to remember and learn here about this list:

1- I had not yet build any rapport or relationship with this particular list.
2- They were seeking the "free" report...

In a nutshell, create a sales funnel of "buyers" (preferably) and then build relationships by providing MASSIVE VALUE at NO cost once they are inside your list...

THEN when you have something to sell, they will buy it.
