Sorry to burst your bubble but you need only 3 steps . . .

    1. Choose it.

    2. Research it.

    3. Do it.

Newbies heed to the advice above from Kevin Alexander... practically the stuff and formula that i use in my business. Especially the "BOSS" part, and coaching and seminars. Very lucrative these 2 things are.

Whilst you're in your "lustful little room full of wine and women", and pimping your stuff in the Articles Forum religiously every day to suck in newbies for dimes. Right!

As I speak, you've got the first 15 posts in the Articles Forum, and you slap your stuff up with multiple posts EVERY day. I don't think you're one to be giving "boss and coaching" advice to anyone.

You've averaged not far short of 100 posts a week since you joined WF. That tells me you spend one heck of a lot of time in this place. Anyone worth their salt as a serious Internet Marketer would have far more important work and things to do. Just my opinion.

I think step 1 should be to read around the subject of this type of online marketing, read some books/read around the forum to learn the various skills involved: copywriting, traffic/lead gen etc.

Thanks a lot for this post Kevin, but what about advertising your website? How & when does that come in?

So I set up a squeeze page and download page.... and then people magically find my site and start giving me their email addresses?

Surely, there must be a formula for this stage. Is it just PPC advertising? Or what other options are out there?

This is a general overview just to keep it simple. There are going to be processes to complete each step.

@moneyman7710 - Paid traffic, IMO, comes in when you have an offer (to sell) of your own (created by you or PLR) to immediately offer new subscribers. The reason is: a certain percentage of subscribers will take you up on the offer and it will offset your advertising costs. Work on breaking even. <---- Build a list for free.

@Benny L - Traffic generation is obviously a MUST or the system will never work. Here is the choice: Work your butt off for free traffic via Forums, Youtube, Free Classified sites, etc. Takes more time, but still effective. OR, pay for traffic. In which case, like I said, you have to have an offer to offset advertising costs or you will lose money like friggin crazy, especially when just starting out.

    Hope this helps.

So if I understand you correctly, you'd recommend either a freebie with free marketing methods, or else offer a book or PLR for just a couple of dollars to keep you rolling with advertisements. Yes?

I would recommend a freebie with ANY marketing methods in exchange for an email address. Like this:

Free Traffic-----> Free Offer-----> Paid Offer (Optional at first)

Paid Traffic-----> Free Offer -----> Paid Offer (Needed to offset costs)

The free offer (lead magnet) is the first thing any traffic should see. IMO.

        Hope this helps.

Bribing your traffic with free offers is a great way to build a list of unresponsive freebie seekers.

Instead you can scrap that and send your traffic to a site full of epic content THEN ask them to opt in / buy from you and watch as they willingly do so without even having to give them a crappy free PDF ebook (that at least 50% of them will never read anyway).

Lists like this are so much more responsive than ones built around sending traffic cold to squeeze pages and the like to get free offers.

This is a great approach to build a successful long-term business.

            Here are some additional ideas:

            * Pick something you really love and you are passionate about - that way you will never have to "work"

            * Provide value again and again

            * Network, build relationships and make friends

            * Create a plan and take massive action

            * Always reinvest some of your earnings - buy some traffic, outsource some of your tasks...

            * Things won't always work out - get up, learn from your failures and continue
