Goartcles v Ezine Articles

As a newbie, I have only written around 15 or so articles (all on various topics). I have submitted all to both goarticles and ezine articles with contrasting results.

For example, I wrote an article on the closing stages of the English Premiership football league (or soccer in American ). I did absolutely no keyword research for this particular article, and just wrote and submitted it for fun.

I wrote this article and submitted it to both dirctories on the 20th April.

In that time, I have had 430 views (with 40 click throughs to my blog) on ezine articles and 2 views on go articles. It's still going strong and the article appears on the first page of google for the "keyword" (that I didn't plan). It's my best performing article by far.

It's the similar with my other articles. If I added the total number of views I've had on all my articles on goarticles, it still wouldn't exceed my poorest performing article on ezine articles.

If goarticles is one of the big boys, I would expect better results than this. What's the deal?

    Ezine is definitely the most popular article database on line. As of today Alexa rating for Ezinearticles is 205 (which means that the site is 205th most popular site in the whole www). The next article site is ArticlesBase.com with Alexa's 977. Goarticles.com is #5 with Alexa's 5,078.

    But submitting to the most popular article directory might not always be the best thing in a long run. Here is Allen Graves' blog that I found very interesting:

    I have heard that Google favors EzineArticles so I started off there. I do like getting upfront pay, irregardless of how little, so I submit more to Associated Content.

    Thanks for the link to EzineArticles vs Everyone Else...very enlightening...and also for the Top 50 Article Directories. I bookmarked that for future reference.

    I don't think Go articles could ever compete with Ezine, not in my experience anyway. I have heard people say that they get some good results but apart from the initial surge of views, my traffic slumps pretty much after the first few days.

    Articlesbase on the other hand actually BEATS Ezine in my experience, I get quite a lot of traffic every day from them also Searchwarp. The only problem is they both don't follow links. That is why I use other directories also.
