Why don't host URL with registering agent?

Hello Warriors,

I know not to to host my URLs with the URL registering agent and won't, but I never found a good explaination why. Could somebody explain why in two sentences or less? (I value your time also.)

Thanks,

Jack Bannon

Rare, but does happen that servers go down for extended periods of time.
If your hosting server goes down - you can still access and repoint your domain to a new host.

That is the answer that was too close for me to see. Thank you!

You miss the point - if the servers are down you have no access to either your site, your control panel, or your name servers.

It's not about management - but about access. I've seen it happen twice and was able to get my sites back up and running in a day or two while others had no access to their dns for weeks.
