Selling 'creative' services

I'll get straight to the point.

I have 7 years worth of Music Production skill & knowledge (composing music tracks, from pop, urban, dance etc), as well as Audio engineering skills. Primarily my services would suit music 'artists' (singers, rappers, etc), however I'm sure there are ways I could make it benefit certain businesses (online & offline) also.

Basically I've put a lot of time into the skill part of it, but I've always been 'lost' when it comes to marketing myself and making money off my services on-line.

I'm (fairly) new to internet marketing, and I'd love to hear any suggestions, or tips from anyone who has experience selling' creative' services, such as music.

Cheers,

-Stuart

As RogueOne said, build a website and market!

Create a website that will have audio clips/demos, credits & testimonials, create packages for your music that will include base rates for your work and what they will entail (Ie: 4 instrument track, 4 instrument track with vocals, etc..).

I'd also create a blog to update and showcase new projects and share noteworthy events.

Once you've done all that, an easy place to get started is craigslist - post in the musicians section or the services/creative section or even bandmix.com. There are always a lot of lyricists/vocalists who don't have a backing band looking for music.

Create a website, Facebook Business Page, Twitter Acct, Google Plus Business Page.

Post to those regularly. Put some samples out maybe on Youtube and other video sites.

Put out a bunch of press releases all linking to your website.

Use social bookmarks to get some links to your site.

These are just a few of the basics to getting started with getting some traffic to your website.
