Offer Not Available In Your Area

Hey Guys,

I have seen this method used more and more recently so I thought I would make this post to see what peoples views are on this.

I'll list it out as a step by step to make it easier to explain.

1) Choose an affiliate product
2) Re-write their squeeze page
3) Create a page that says "Offer not available in your area - redirecting you to another provider that covers your area". Have this page automatically re-direct via your affiliate link to the product owners squeeze page.
4) select your autoresponder to have single optin and have it point to your "offer not available" page as the confirmation page.
5) Create autoresponder series promoting similar affiliate products
6) advertise your page with PPC.

I think the idea behind this is that the prospect reads the page, likes what he reads and completes the details. When he is told that its not available in his area and it re-directs him to another page, he is more likely to fill in the details again.

So why do this instead of just driving traffic to the affiliate squeeze page? Well, because you generate a list to market to. I always have an affiliate offer on my confirmation pages but have not used this technique yet. Anyone out there using something like this and want to share how well it works? Do you tag on CPA or affiliate offers with the re-direct?

Cheers,

G

I see this a lot - and have always clicked away before any redirection takes place.

This is the first time I have seen it referred to as a sales ploy. I don't quite see the point of all this - I can't imagine anybody filling in his details twice - being rejected once is usually enough.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

If it doesn't work why would so many people do it?
