if the right sidebar consist of a widget settion then you can go into appearance->widgest and then remove the widget items if it is just the standard layout of the blog and cannot be edited then you would have to hire a web designer to remove it for you or pick other theme. Much cheaper to go with another theme though.

Removing widgets won't get rid of the sidebar though, it will just get rid of the widgets from that sidebar. To get rid of the sidebar you need to change the page template being used to the full width one.

If you have to ask this question, I suggest looking for some wordpress tutorials. Learn how wordpress works before you start asking specific questions.

Agree with you, the widgets is drag and drop, I'm sure your theme is widgetize,, some themes should have an options that you can remove the sidebar in frontpage and stay it in the the subpages..

    You have two options.

    1. Edit the current theme you are using. It's hard to say if it's even possible without knowing what theme you are using. Different themes come with different page layouts. You might have a 'full width' page layout which would get rid of the sidebar for you. You can select the page template when creating your post/page.

    2. Change themes to a different theme that does have the options you need.

I highly recommend using Catalyst Theme. It comes with many homepage layouts out of the box.

Not sure what theme do you use currently. It depends on your theme you're using for your website. Most of themes have full width page template.

You can choose the full width template on the page editor and make it as the homepage by go to Settings > Reading > select static page and choose the page you that use the full width template you created before. You may now see there's no sidebar in your homepage anymore. Hope this helps.

Well, there is a thingymabob (Quite different to Bobs Your Uncle mind you) that you need to attach to the whatyoumacallit, once there is synergy between these 2 dangadongles then you should see life...

Now that ^^^ is a BS answer and quite confusing.
Maybe myself or others could have supplied a better answer if you gave more details.
    What Theme are you using?
What is it exactly that you want to achieve?
Maybe a link to your site?

    Cheers

Try to serve yourself with little more information before asking such a cloud question.

It's depend on your theme. In addition, I can't recommend you to tweak the theme itself because of your current question leads me to know that you're not comfortable with it.

-Removing all widgets, on some themes, do not make the theme full-width of no-sidebar.
    - (f.e) Twenty Twelves Theme of current default Wordpress has a Full-Width/No-Sidebar page template. OR, you could just remove all widgets.
    - What is you current theme (at least you could provide it)?
    - What purpose you want to completely change your Home Page?

I just wanna tell you that most of the links in the signature are trash and/or a trap to make you pay!

i thought i was pretty clear in my question. it's a pretty simple request.

When you land on the homepage, it looks customized with sections laid out for viewers to choose on what to learn more about on my site. (as opposed to the classic 2 column blog format. Top 10 blog posts on left, sidebar with widgets on right.)

Then when you click on anything, it takes you to the blog post (because every piece of content, except for pages, are blog post on wordpress) and that blog post has the two column format (blog post on left, sidebar with widgets on right.)

Make sense? I want a custom homepage layout.

My purpose for changing the homepage is because right now it serves no purpose other than listing the latest blog posts. I'd like to change it up so that it it has a conversion goal instead. Example being... sign up for my newsletter to get latest posts delivered to your email. And/Or Highlighting my Free blog post content and my paid content.

The theme I use is GreenChili GreenChili - Free WordPress Theme For Bloggers @ MyThemeShop

It depends on your theme, I suggest if you don't want a sidebar for your wordpress site, search the theme with one column only.

Are you programmer? if not then even if you receive guide you find it difficult to change the layout of your WordPress home page, you must have html knowledge at least along with the PHP in order to incorporate the customization properly, otherwise it is not possible.
