Social Bookmarking You Tube Videos - Good For Traffic Generation or Waste of Time?

Hi Warriors - I have some videos out on YouTube and other video sharing sites (those videos promote and point to my "money sites").

If I use Social Marker and systematically bookmark my videos to several of the social bookmarking sites (specifically - digg, delicious, reddit, technorati, propeller, and by hand on stumble upon) do you know if that is actually a good little strategy to get some traffic to my videos (and then hopefully to the money sites) ?

Or is that an exercise in futility and a waste of time?

I've done some bookmarking as described above, but have not tracked to see if my video views increased as a result...

...so I was curious if you have experience with this and if you've seen measurable results?

It's a good strategy and should be done, IMO. It's probably more for linking that direct traffic, but if you have your bookmarking accounts already set up for other projects, it should only take a minute.

Also, take your Youtube RSS pheed and submit/ping it like you would any other RSS pheed.

Hey, if you have a minute, could you please outline the steps in doing that? I admit that the feed (pheed?) strategy is a "hole" in my SEO knowledge right now...

Hi David,

This page has some links to YourTube/RSS resouces. It also has a form to create an RSS pheed from your YouTube account "favorites".

1. In this case, add all your videos to your favorites.
2. Go to the page below and create your RSS pheed.
3. Copy the URL of the pheed created and submit it to the RSS directories. Use something like Big Mike's RSSBot.
4. Copy the URL of the pheed and ping it at www.pingomatic.com (or simlar)
5. As you add new videos, add them to your favorites, and "re-ping" your pheed
