Affiliate Recruitment

Hi All,

I am looking for the best way of recruiting affiliates to my program. I have recruited several reviewers which are great but do not convert to any sales. Can any of you help me on finding the best way to recruit affiliates to my program?

Thanks,

Scott

My favorite option is still to network with people. But, there are services that do affiliate recruiting for a fee. Most will expect a piece of the pie for each affiliate they bring on.

Another option is to look for popular forums that advertise affiliate programs. If you've got a good product the affiliates will join. If the product is lame; it will be difficult no matter what you do.

What I would do is to look for other similar products and/or services that also have affiliate programs. Once you find them, go and search and see who is promoting those affiliate programs around the Internet. Then approach those same affiliates and let them know about your affiliate program and give them a reason to promote yours over the other.

Thanks for the tips guys!! WillR, we have tried this technique but will definitely make a greater push on finding more. We were looking for companies like Edenred who have an intranet service that advertise your product as part of the affiliate program.

Have you joined any affiliate networks? CJ probably has the best publishers as well as affiliates. Then there are linkshsare, shareasale etc.

As WillR said, contacting top affiliates directly could help. Top affiliates get offers from affiliate managers all the time and some of them might be interested in your product as well, if you can offer some extra benefits or a tired structure.

I've tried just about every method out there and found that there's only one way to attract dynamite affiliates: prove your offer's ability to convert. Send traffic to it using your own methods and get the thing converting at 1 to 3%. Then, put up a big commission (50 to 75%), and create a landing page which shows the screenshots of your conversion rate, and a formula that forecasts their earnings like this:

You bring us 500 hits of traffic, our page converts at 2%, you make 10 sales.
    Product price is $200, your commission is 75%, so 500 hits = 150 x 10. That's $1,500 for every 500 hits you bring us.

Get something likes this on the right networks and you'll have no problem getting the best affiliates to sign up.

Put your product up on affiliate marketplaces (Clickbank, Paydotcom, JVzoo, etc). Submit your affiliate program information to the affiliate directories. Advertise your affiliate program on Clickbank or even via PPC. Also include a link to your affiliate program at the very bottom of each page on your website.

For some product, your customers make the best affiliates. They
know the product better than anyone, and can give honest
    reviews in their own words.

That why I've often put a pitch inside a product, or on the download
page, or in a follow-up email, inviting customers to become
    affiliates.

It of course depends upon the niche, since I have encountered
people in several niches that told me that they had absolutely NO
interest in making extra money... they just wanted to enjoy the
    product
