Can only people living in the US register a .us domain?
I found the most interesting one word .us domain yesterday. Its estibot value was worth $3.9K.I didn't get it yesterday, since I wanted to wait and today the domain is gone in backorder in Godaddy!
I was trying to register another .us domain, when I got a questionnaire in which one option was if I was a resident/citizen of US. There was no other option.
So can register a .us domain only if I am in the US?
Thanks

Can anybody help me here. I really want this domain, but don't want to be in trouble later.

Sometimes it takes more than 14 minutes.

Look at this (and you can find more, easily, by using Google or just by clicking the links inside this explanation): .us - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm not eligible to register them, myself, because I have no "bona fide presence" in the US (you don't have to live there; I think having a genuine business physically in the US, which you visit, would be enough? Possibly even having one which you don't visit would be enough, but don't take my word for it because I might be wrong about that).

That doesn't mean that it's necessarily worth more than its reg-fee, really. Automated valuations are very random. Real values depend on the market.

      Typical GoDaddy story.

But you need to be ready and able to register domain-names when you find them, in principle.

Anyone can buy a .us domain.... I also have some .us domains without any problem. If you have business related US people then you can have one.

I use godaddy to buy all my domains though I host my domains somewhere else.
