I am ordering a CB product that I hope to review/promote in the future. I just put in my payment information and I was taken to a second, special one time offer.

Does the affiliate also get credit if the customer purchases the second offer? As an affiliate, how would I know the answer to this up front?

I'm afraid if I click on it, it will automatically charge my card prior to me knowing the answer since my payment information has already been entered.

Newbie here, so many things to learn . . .

Most Clickbank product pages have a link to their affiliate page. On this page you will usually find what your commissions will be. If the info is not clear just email the vendor.

You will get commission, however it does not have to be the same rate as the main product so it could vary between the minimum(1%) and the maximum (75%). There is no way to know the rate without asking the vendor.

Just email the seller and they'll let you know the commission rate. But make sure you check their affiliate page first in case they already mentioned it - you don't want to waste their time.

Ok, I checked under "affiliate spotlight". Is there another place to look for this information?

Just for clarification, I've realized there were 2 issues:

      1) an OTO upon purchase that I am not sure I will get credit for if a customer purchases the upsell

      2) sales page leaks that link to another offer that does NOT include my affiliate ID (honestly I do not recall if the OTO in #1 was the same; I think not)

After looking at the information in the vendor spotlight, it would seem that his recommendation for #2 is to simply apply to promote the other program as well. I guess this would work but I will confirm by asking. I'm not sure if they reach that OTO via the alternate program that I would get credit for the referral.

Darn it, sure wish I could remember what the OTO was; I'd like to have my facts straight before I inquire and perhaps challenge. Is there any way I might be able to pull up that page again?

Oh, is there an interface within CB to allow for emailing (I have not been able to find) or do I just email from another address?

Sorry for the many questions. I truly appreciate the responses and hope my questions (and answers) help others!

You should know the commission rates for all the products in the downline before you start selling. If the vendor is doing something sneaky like putting a 1% commission on the upsell product that is probably not something you want to promote. Most will put the same commission on upsell products, but always good to double check before signing up.

You should be able to find it in your browsing history.

Thanks. I didn't see it there before but I found it this time. Yes, it was a different offer.
