I was looking for some feedback on how to run a successful membership website. More specifically - 1. What are the key ingredients to a successful membership website? 2. How do you find the price that people are willing to pay? 3. What kind of motivators would be essential [ie.. bonuses, OTO's] Any input will be great. I'll use the following site as an example: The Best Business Building Strategies Thanks, Brett |

Imagine that you are a member - what would you want and what would you pay you for what you are willing to offer? Once you think like a member and act like a member you will know what the key ingredients are. A membership site for colonic irrigation specialists would have a whole set of different parameters than a membership site for internet marketers, for example. |

You might not like what I say - but I believe it. Build it, make money, then build some more Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies! | |

What I believe about membership sites is that you should provide the value and people would buy it. It's not that people won't buy your product if it's too expensive. If you can give the value then they would buy it. Source of this is Mike Filsaime's butterfly marketing manuscript. |

Time Saver Active discussion board (e.g., Warrior Forum has a paid forum) I work for a Fortune 500 company and we have numerous memberships that do nothing but save our employees time so they don't have to gather all the data themselves. For example, one website does nothing but scour the commodity markets for the current price of a particular metal that we must have. Another collects all the current case law and legislation on a niche in maritime law. I realize the above examples may seem arcane to what you're doing but the point is if you can save someone a lot of time on a subject that rings a bell with them, you can make money. |
