Can I Create This In Wordpress?

I am planning to create a site for celebrity local fans. Because my country is really a die hard fans. I want to create a site that members can create their fans group and others can create their own group with different private chat group in every group, and also and also my site should have a forum for debates.

Its like a social network sites for a local fans by groups. Its like all in one fans group in one site. Do you think can i create a site like this in wordpress if not do you think how much it will cost me to create a site i like?.

My plan of monetization is through ad space and if they want to chat to other group they should pay to unlock private chat group.

    It might be possible, but to me it seems like a big workaround when there is other free software which is more suitable. Check out something like Elgg (open source social networking engine), it should be able to do everything you want.

      You don't need to bump the thread, if someone has a response they will add it.

      Do your research on BuddyPress and see if you can find any plugins that allow people to setup private groups. There's also plenty of themes for it that will make it look like a social network.

          There is a wordpress plugin that claims to be able to do this. I've never used it, but may be worth a look. Search the plugins for GRA4 Social Network
