I am struggling to earn money from my blog makemoneyroom.com and only have expectation to achieve a very small target of $10/month. Tried few ways but no success. Blog is at least 1 year old . Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

You're trying to teach people how to make money without yourself being able to make money. This is probably the single commonest cause of beginning internet marketers' failures. It's just not a suitable niche, at all.

Its not the answer of my question. I am learning and write in my blog what I read regarding how to make money. I m not making money by those methods, do not mean that others won't.

That's why you have the problem: you and 10,000 other people with no successful experience or credibility are doing that. You perhaps don't see them because you don't look for them, and you don't read all their threads here.

        "My case rests".

You've gone into a line of self-employment in which, overall, perhaps 97% of people fail to make any significant amount of money and 3% succeed (depending on whose figures you believe - the exact figures don't matter very much: the point is self-evident), and you're making probably the single commonest mistake that beginning marketers make; but when you ask "What am I doing wrong?" and people tell you, you want to argue with them about it and defend your position, rather than discussing it sensibly and practically. I'm not trying to "have a go" at you: I'm trying to answer your question openly and honestly and also to explain to you why you're effectively making it very difficult indeed (not to mention unappealing!) for anyone who actually knows what they're talking about to try to help you, here - sorry.

The reality is that you may make money and start building a real business when you get out of that niche and into "cauliflower soup recipes", or "decorating kids' bedroom ceilings", or "growing grapes in your backyard", or "skating videos" (these are intended as abstract examples, not necessarily literal ones, although in fact at least two of those do happen to be real niches from which real people make real money) and/or something of which you have real experience, yourself, and actually know something about. There's some practical, constructive, sensible advice for you, but it's up to you whether or not you're willing to listen to it - I wish you well, either way.

I doubt this percent is THAT high. More like a 0,3% if we are talking about money that is consistent and enough to live off.

Yeah, 3% of IM'rs could have have made a single buck in their lives, but not much more.

        It's a nice site

Your affiliate product took me off your page. Create a false target or get the external links plugin for wordpress.

Keep the site, hopefully you're using a hosting service that gives you multiple domains for free.

Start a site you can monetize with SOMETHING YOU LOVE!
        What are you passionate about
        What burns in your soul
What do others ask you about ALL THE TIME

If you're going to be in business, start a business with something you LOVE. That way you'll never "work" a day in your life. Not completely true. There's always grunt work to do, but the goals are heartfelt not wallet felt.

Passion expressed is one of the best sales tools there is!

If his blog is new and he hasn't promoted it or done any SEO then he won't really earn anything with AdSense. And from the looks of things, he seems like a beginner.

Are you at least trying to build a list?

Building an email list is one of the most essential things you can do.

Give your market something of value like a Free ebook the would love in exchange for their email address.

Then you market affiliate products to them via email (of course you must build a relationship with them as well so that they trust you and view you as an authority.)

I agree with the others - you need to do it first before teaching others to do it.

Let me ask you this: If you could not drive a car, would you get in a car and attempt to teach others to drive a car?

I do have a blog, part of it shows how I made money, and all the experiences that went along with it.

I show proof of this in many ways (including a video of me logging into my dashboard to show income etc), and as a result, the blog is already making a very small income - and I have nearly 100 subscribers (blog is less than 4 months old).

Sure, nothing great there, but it as at least on the right lines.

    Good luck.

At least one year ago I started this blog actually to collect all the related information about how to make money online. During this year I learn alot. I am earning a handsome amount as a freelance web developer, at fiverrr, lit bit with affiliate marketing.
What I was trying to ask and the purpose of this thread, like what steps or points I m missing due to which this blog is not generating any money....

So those who really concentrating the question of this thread "I am trying hard to earn some money from my blog for the last 1 year without any success. Now I really wish to earn $10/month only. Anyone can help me in right direction?" they are visiting and providing great feedback with suggestions.

But few are only trying to proof himself/herself authority by providing self-generated statitics and useless comments.

As I said, stop being so defensive. You are doing YOURSELF no favours at all here.

You have been given good advice, which includes the advice given by RockingLastsForever. If you are ONLY prepared to accept the answers you like and the advice you want to hear, then you seriously need to assess your attitude - both to people and to your business. You are getting frank advice telling you that your site is no good. You KNOW that because it isn't earning you much money.

You can grow up, man up, learn some manners and develop your business.

Or you can whinge, whine and moan and wonder why you don't have the respect of fellow forum members and of your clients.

I saw your signature about guest posting. Why don't you try that? Guest posting is, after all, a great way to bring in a lot of targeted traffic. My guess is your blog does not have enough traffic, so read this forum for traffic methods first.

Also, are you updating your blog regularly enough to keep your readers coming back to you? Is your website design professional? Your design plays a major role in your conversions.

These are just a few things you can look into.

On reading just one of your posts, the English isn't great to be honest. Readers pick up on that straightaway and conclude that the writer can't really know much about blogging if their own blog has mistakes.

I suggest having it proof read before publishing

Also as suggested earlier by anther poster, breaking up the text by adding images or video would make it more reader friendly.

But we have to learn too if we dont know about something. Everything has some beginnig point. Though online teaching stuff is different than the physical stuff like driving or flying...If I start thinking so I can quote hundreds of examples where others are doing which they must not do.
Do you suggest university professor must not teach the MBA (or Business Strategies) as he or she does not haveown business ever??
Do you suggest that google must not advertise the products unless they buy and test themselves first.
Do you suggest WSO Offers will only be published once administrator of WF buy, test and then publish it??

There are millions of examples and sites where people have stuff about which they dont have a single clue themselves. Everybody has its own perspective and way of taking the things, may be these information will be lot more helpful for others than me.

When people say you should not do what you dont have knowledge about, is not a Right Thinking.

    Hi Abbe,

I think Alexa's right. It's pretty difficult to try and sell your expertise about making money online when you don't actually make any. Been there, done that. $10/ month is really not a difficult target to achieve but you should maybe start with another topic.

You mention " few ways" but don't provide details. Are you trying to build a list? How do you drive traffic to your site? Free or paid traffic?

There are so many different ways of driving targeted traffic to a site but once again, you're tackling a massive DINOSAURE here. Making money online is just about everywhere. If you were to continue, I'd suggest you narrow down your topic as much as possible. You need to find a sub-sub-sub-sub niche but that's not easy within the field of MMO.

Also, you could create a new blog about something different that doesn't require "proof that you are actually making big $$$$", learn from it and then come back to your makemoneyroom.com with the experience etc. By the way, I do like the name and I think you should keep it for later. Don't let it expire, it's a really good name.

Hope this helps. Don't feel discouraged. Change directions for the time being and start making money from an easier niche.

    Good luck with everything.

Thanks for great comments and motivation.

I am mostly using free traffic and soon planning to create a product then I can also do paid traffic (tried paid traffic with FB but due to no product so can't determine conversion, it was just a kind of test)... Also trying to build a list only by opt-in at the site.
Yes I have long term plans with this domain but as others newbies, still stuck with all-in-one dilemma... Its a great idea to make it micro-micro niche for narrow targeting.

Thanks again for your time and suggestions.

This is how I'm learning. When I become a success with this site then I can move on to other things. It makes it easier to learn Internet Marketing when you write about something you know. For me this is what works best.

After one year of trial and error, you still aren't making money with a blog that supposedly teaches others how to make money with their blogs, and you have less than 10 subscribers.

Sometimes trial and error teaches that the best way to make $10 a month from a site is to simply drop that monthly hosting bill and quit buying content for it.

But I wont say that it was a waste of time.. I learnt alot if I compare it one year back. just giving up is not a solution and also rolling stone gathers no mass. So I prefer to stick with it and trying to find the better ways. I guess 1 year is not much time in this regards.

You need to start where you are, and find people in the same place or just behind you. What I mean is people are coming into this business for the first time everyday. Don't try to pretend you are a millionaire Guru or anything.

Best advise, learn something new every day, week, month. When you learn something make a video, or just a post and tell everyone what you learned. it can be as simple as, Today I learned how to install WordPress. Then as you progress and try different methods you can tell others what you learned. There will of course be the opportunity to make money with affiliate links, but don't start a post with that in mind.

Maybe the most important though is to build a list. Do this by giving away free goodies, reports, ebooks, etc. It takes time. And for God sake don't start sending out emails to your list every week with the "One thing you have been missing", or "The missing link that made me $12763.63 in only 12 hours".

Just be honest. People can smell a fake.

Wow great!!! I think that's what I am doing wrong....I came into IM by hearing the exact same promises "One thing you have been missing", or "The missing link that made me $12763.63 in only 12 hours" and trying to tell the same to others
I must change this mindset and start with small, simple things.

Best ever tip during my 1 year IM journey.... Thanks alot!!!

I totally agree with this. The best way to teach others is to tell them about what you have learned and how. Use your blog to document your own journey of discovery and education. That way, at least you are providing fresh and unique content instead of just posting raw and Unedited PLR content.

How to make money from your site? Stop pretending that it is a site written by someone who knows how to make money online. It isn't.

Write about your JOURNEY towards making money. Write about what you do to make money. What you've done that doesn't make money and why not. In other words, write something new, personal, interesting and unique.

Unless your visitors have never set eyes on a "make money online" site before they will instantly realise that, as it stands, it is a set of standard articles about standard IM products.

For goodness sake you even have a page that says "A 100+ page book that shows how I turned a $5/day income into $38,000 in 6 weeks, and then much, much more since then". Clearly that is a big, fat "porky pie". Ditch it. By all means review the product, and write about how it has or hasn't helped you, but don't pretend you are doing something you aren't.

If you aim your site at newbies, make it entertaining and engaging and encourage them to follow your learning you might well get a list of people who will be interested in your experiences and your opinions of the products you have tried. Then you can get affiliate commissions from the products that work - but you have to be honest. You will quickly lose respect if you pretend to review a product you haven't used just to get commissions and your list find out it's a **** product.

And stop being so defensive. You are doing yourself no favours.

    Try another niche.

You know why I was so rude and to the point?

Because of the attitude YOU displayed throughout this thread.

You came here looking for advice but when people gave you REALLY good advice you weren't interested because it didn't fit your agenda and wasn't what you wanted to hear.

You were defensive and shot peoples advice down.

After that you can't expect people to go out their way to help you.

You've created a site on a subject which you know nothing about and your visitors have obviously saw through that hence why you've made no money from it. Create a blog on a subject you can speak with authority and you'll have more success.

Or just keep flogging a dead horse if you insist and in a years time come back on here and ask the same question all over again.

Don't worry dude. Just about 99.9% of everyone in this business did the exact thing you did when they started. Because that's what the Guru they bought their first system from told them to do. You can make money in the I.M. niche, just don't try to be a Guru.

Find a good Mentor if you can, or just someone willing to point you in the right direction. Anyone you can ask a question and get an honest answer. Feel free to P.M. anytime if you want. I'm no Guru, but I won't feed you B.S.

Find anyone like that, it will help and save a lot of time.

When you ask for advice here at the Warrior forum you have to be prepared to accept everyone's criticism without losing your temper.

It is a brave decision to expose yourself in a forum. Some people don't take into consideration the fact that they should be kind. They prefer to be sincere, rude, indifferent, etc. Everyone has a different personality.

You should read many posts here and understand by yourself how to improve your website, or how to build a new website, which will be well-optimized and will help you get organic traffic.

You can make a website about making money for newbies and teach them basic things, what you could learn, etc. If you will be honest and you will help your audience, you can be successful.

makemoneyroom is my very first project in IM journey. I know it has lots of flaws , my first thought were to Share not to Sell...This site was not started as a business but to share contents and earn money by affilaites or ads.

I would go back to your first thought. Like I said, just share what you learn no matter how basic it might seem. Someone else will be in your situation tomorrow and not know what to do.

If you find some free info, share it. I would create an opt in and try to get some people who follow what you say. This way when you find a product or method that helps you actually make some money, there will be the opportunity to make some referral cash. You might even find that are really good at something that others are not, and are willing to pay you to do it for them.

I think having a blog in the long run would make money, but to get you started with making money today, you should start at fiverr.com or similar sites. You can study top gigs on different niches and make notes of the best ones. Work out a plan to offer similar gigs and target sub keywords.

You could easily teach yourself how to make banners, logos, one page websites etc.

Don't give up easily, before you know it, you will get gig orders and reach level 2 and sell your services for better prices.

You can always PM me for help, I am online most days.

All the best and keep your chin up - it will all work out.

It's looks like a simple site, Have you ever thought about adding a video? Video is big these days and it can increase you on site time from 45sec to 5 min witch is HUGE. Just find a simple video company like animoto.com and make a video relating to the content on your website:-) This will increase you ranking opt-in and SALE$ in no time.

Instead of trying to teach people who to make money, since you are still learning yourself. Why not show people what you are doing to create an income online.

Even if you haven't make a lot of money. People always want to see what others are doing to create an income.

You could use your blog as a journal and post in it what is working and what is not. Eventually as people start to see your blog, they will start subscribing to your list to see what you are doing.

This works, you just have to be willing to show people what you are doing. You don't have to show everything, but give them enough to get them interested in what you are doing. Good Luck
