I got rejected as an affiliate?

Ok so I am new and have been SLOWLY building up my site with articles. I have around 7 articles that are relatively good (I paid for them). The site has no design as I am a newbie at this, running on wordpress. It does have a logo from a fiverr purchase lol.

My plan was to continue building articles but now start concentrating on my sub-niche. Drilling down.

So to do that, I have to get some sort of affiliation with a product that I need to somehow get someone to click. So I need to tell the writers to at least get this product somewhere in the article.

**Btw, from last sentence -- is there another way to make money from affiliating asides from putting hyperlink in an article?**

So I decided to scour the internet for an affiliate, and found a product. I filled up their web form and sent the applicaton. Well its been 5 days and I havent heard from them, and I am thinking they must not want me to be an affiliate?

I mean my site does seem somewhat incoherent, but I need to get up to a working model soon or this venture dies.

Some affiliate companies are very strict about who they will accept. They may want to see demonstrated sales.

You can try calling the company directly and pleading your case or picking another affiliate company. Really you should work with more than one anyone as these companies tend to come and go and you don't want all of your eggs in one basket lest it comes crashing down!

Have you tried reaching out to them via a phone call and/or a skype message?

Show them you are serious and they'll let you on the network/offer.

If not, don't worry about it too much.

I think you need a viable business plan much more than you need to become an affiliate at this point. Putting affiliate links in articles rarely works. Putting affiliate links in email messages to people who have subscribed to your newsletter or other email messages is what works.

Though even with that strategy you need to build a relationship with your subs first. You can also place a link or two in special reports you generate for your subscribers. If you're lucky Alexa Smith will come along and post a few links that might be useful to you. Good luck.

      Define "viable business plan"

I have one to guide me thru.

It states 1.) to get traffic through article generation and link building 2.) to get an affiliate product impregnated in the site

Both will fulfill the "minimum viable product."

      Then go from there.

So what do you guys suggest I do? here's what I am thinking.

1.) Produce more articles on sub-niche
2.) Get some traffic in there (maybe link building)
    3.) Get site redesigned
4.) Build a list of the viable products

Then start applying to the viable products see if I can get a good return on response. I would like to start applying now but they might just reject me down the road even when my site will be at optimum.

From the affiliate company's view these statements are my standards to permit one's site in carrying our name or brand.

This is hardly a viable plan. This is called making it up as you go. Again, placing affiliate links in articles doesn't work. You might occasionally get a sale or two but that's not how it's done. Consider this:

    1. Provide great content (this is critical)
    2. Offer something to build a list
    3. Offer affiliate stuff to your list

That's the bare bones. Seven articles doesn't provide you anywhere near enough credibility to start suggesting products. Article marketing takes time. It takes a lot more time without a workable plan.

Have you looked for a network that runs the offer?

Most direct advertisers rather deal with larger affiliates than smaller ones that an agency of record or brokered network would be willing to work with.

    Was it a WSO?

    Because, if it was...

    ->> you have no avitar
->> have not made any friends yet
->> nothing really in your profile

Those little things can help :-)

A bit about my experience with affiliate companies, some ask questions like the traffic you get on a daily basis etc and if you are generating little or no traffic to your site then there really isn't much for them to gain. You do not have to stop just because one company has not replied to you. My advice would be for you to keep going, write more articles, and also put some work towards a web design, if you have to get a paid for template then do so, you have been on fiverr before you could get someone to design a template for you. Do not knock yourself down, keep positive, ask the right questions to the right audience (I am sorry If I am digressing from the question) and keep taking action. I hope my contribution helps.

So you haven't actually been rejected, you just haven't received a response yet? Some affiliate managers take a while to get back to people.

If I were you though I would follow up with them. Show them you are keen. If they looked at your site and thought it looked mediocre and they then rejected you as affiliate, it's up to you to show them you are serious. Whenever I reject affiliates I know if I never hear from them again then I made the right decision because they obviously were not that serious about promoting my products. So make that known.

I've recently listed my product with JVZoo. The product is an ebook in the health/fitness/exercise/bodybuilding niche. The ebook sells for $25 with 60% commission ($15) going to the affiliate. Also, to further encourage promotion of my product, I will be giving out bonuses to high sellers:

For any month that the total number of sales is over 100, a $250 BONUS is split between the 2 top sellers! ($160 to number 1 & $90 to number 2).

Also, any affiliate that makes 100 sales alone in a month will be given a $250 BONUS.
So if you make 100+ sales in any month AND you are the leader for the most sales in the month, then you will receive a bonus of $410.
Bonuses will be given repeatedly until the contest ends. So it is possible to collect bonuses every month until the end of the contest.
