Newbie here with a challenging question: How To Monetize A Parenting Site!

Hello everyone, just wanna introduce myself. I go by PassiveIncomeApprentice, and I just started blogging (for eventual profit which is why we're all here) in February 2013. After surviving a condition that usually kills its victims--Viral Myocarditis--and going into remission for my 2nd disease (Toxic Ulcerative Colitis) I figured that dillydallying on focusing on online income generation has gotta stop. Since I am still on medical leave, I decided to plunge headfirst into the world of niche site building.

Daddy Lessons 101 - Daddy Lessons 101 - Be The Best Dad You Can Be! is my 1st site and I created it to be a site for parenting advice drawn from a father's perspective (usually dad blogs are all about jokes and non-serious stuff) and not only that, from a young father's perspective. I did the necessary stuff--posted great content, great advice, commented on other blogs, sent shoutouts to other dad bloggers on Twitter (still figuring out the fan page/business page of FB) and submitted articles to EZA, and Hubpages. The most traffic I got was 398 Unique visitors on a single day, which then trickled down again to what it usually is--17-20 visitors a day. Bummer. With such low traffic, my ads--using Media.net, since Adsense, for all its worth, has NEVER made me even a single penny--make me about $0.02 a day.

I dont think I'll have much of a problem eventually monetizing my other 2 blogs, PharmacyTechTraining101.com and PassiveIncomeApprentice.com, since I have researched any and all potential advertisers/income streams for both. Making Money Online will ALWAYS be a huge niche, and Pharmacy Tech Training is my personal expertise site (Since I originally am a Certified Pharmacy Tech.)

My problem is DaddyLessons101. Despite trying to network with other parent bloggers on Twitter especially, all I get are marketers selling a product or service right off the bat without building rapport first, and other parent bloggers--surprisingly even the other dads, who I thought would be more supportive--just dont seem to care outside their bubble. I have a newly set-up Reviews section on the site where I reviewed a product I personally used (the true benchmark for me as a consumer is whether you used what you're selling--if not, you're just out for yourself and not my wellbeing(Walk the walk, and I'll talk the cost.)

I highly doubt the reviews would generate sales with such dysmal visitor count. Here are my choices:

1.)Sell Daddylessons101.com. Why waste my time when no viable, sustainable income stream will come from it in the future? I love the blog but spending 2-3 hours to craft an excellent post and have no one see it is depressing.
2.)Keep going and hope for the best--I dont like wasting time on unproductive projects though.
3.)Buy ads on Google. With my current medical leave I dont have any money coming in,and with 3 kids and a wife to feed I have to conserve watever money I have for them

So if any of you Warriors have monetized a parenting website, any suggestions? First mistake I did was use Weebly; Wordpress is indeed king. My hosting is with Weebly as well my site, and it is EXTREMELY restrictive. Id love to hear your suggestions!

I think you would probably have to either go Adsense or Amazon if you ever review baby products you like.

Also maybe putting together an e-book and selling that may work as well.

    • Thanks, thinking of doing eBook and am already an Amazon Associate. Not for nothing but it would be great to get responses from people who actually run a monetized parenting blog. Thanks anyways.
