How do I upload a Microsoft Word document on my website?

I mean the whole file. So that when people come to my site, they will open up Microsoft Word with the text inside. Thanks.

The problem is most browsers will ask the user to download the file unless the user has specifically set their browser to open it differently i.e. they've gone into options and told it to open it in the browser as a webpage.

So if you want the user to open the file as a word document, just upload it normally. The file will called filename.doc which is how you would link to it. The user would then have the option to either save it or open it with word.

If you want it to open as a web page, you can save the file onto your desktop as a webpage instead of a text file. This will save it as filename.html

I'm not 100% sure that's what you were asking but hope it helps :-)

One possible solution would be to use Google Docs. You have to create an account. Then you can import the word doc into google docs. Then you can create a link to share it publicly, and finally you can add this link to your website.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.
