What is the single most important trait for making money?

There are a lot of reasons why people make money and a lot of reasons why people fail. But if you had to choose only one character trait as the most important trait of a successful money maker, what would it be? To be an action oriented person? Tenacious person? Creative? Imaginative? Knowledgeable? Thorough? Excellent at writing good ad copy? Motivated? Team player? What do you think?

Lots of people think they want money, but their money-related thoughts are completely out of whack. Your thoughts have to be in line with what you think your desires are.

Persistence - just because you fail on the first, second, third or even tenth attempt keep going. Once you find one thing which works you have struck gold, even if you're just bringing in $50 a month as you can do it over and over and over again.

research research and more research most people do not put the amount of research need for what they are offering first. Which makes them fight with excessive amounts of an already over populated niche. Just my honest opinion.

I my self just got back into the internet marketing scheme due to a lay off. Which sucks because I lost my list of well more then 1000 and I am now starting all over again. Yet starting all over from scratch was not entirely a bad thing either.

Since I knew the ropes for the most part before. I may not be making much right now but I do now that the money will come. With the more traffic I get to my sites. I also never really hit the adsense market before. Yet know I have 20 adsense niches full of about 40-50 articles a piece.

So I believe research is the main key for everyone. You do not do your research you will fail.

Because it is common to see people who have a "tragic flaw" that keeps stopping them from reaching their goals (or properly creating them), I think it is best not to try to characterize a single trait, as each case can be different, and there are many different forms of making money which require different forms of development. If I had to say something in general terms, I would say making money requires a desire to change that includes a willingness to give up behaviors that hold you back.

An ability to accurately judge what's important. Otherwise you can persist in spending your days downloading free e-books, or focus on buying one IM product after another because each promises to reveal the golden road to online wealth. Focus and persistence are not a lot of good if you persist in setting your focus on activities that aren't helpful to you.

The ability to put my own opinions aside and realize I am not my target market.

Knowing html, php, etc., has let me test and implement ideas quickly.

To embrace the fact that there is simply no guarantee of success which is (IMHO) the main reason that people don't take the first step on the ladder. It doesn't matter how many more products you buy or ebooks you read, that will never change.

So, when you can consistently "work round" that issue without it bothering you, you're on the road you need to be on. Then, the hard work and determination mentioned by others can work their magic, without your energy being drained by self-doubt.

True love of money. I know people who want to be rich but then make off handed remarks when I take vacations or buy cars. These people have a subconscious issue with wealth. Unless you conquer this you will never be rich.

Consider what you think when you see someone driving a Bently or Mercedes. If your thoughts are negative you have a long way to go.

You must love what you want to become.

Success in business is almost always measured by maximizing shareholder value. Anyone running a business actually has a fiduciary obligation to do just this.

If someone disparages wealth, then they will certainly have an awfully difficult time aquiring it.

this is hard since your question implies that ONE trait would trump others, but thats not the case. Its a combination of many factors.

Id say "research" I've made way to many mistakes by jumping into "great" programs too fast. And now, years later.. my business is doing great and I'm still researching and finding out there are things I'm doing that are a waste of time or have cost me money.
