Hi Guys,

I am quite new to this business, and have been trying to create a video to sit on my squeeze page.

I created a Powerpoint presentation, then recorded it using Camtasia - but it seems all fuzzy and out of focus. I used the "Record The Screen" button on Camtasia - and, to be honest, expected a little better than the results I got.

Is there an alternative? Should I stick with Camtasia? Am I doing something wrong? Please help as I am growing more and more despondant as the day progress's.

Thankyou.

Your YouTubevideo is only available at 240p, 360p and
480p which is why it seems fuzzy on full screen.

Camtasia Studio is the right software to use so it's down
to your recording and production settings.

I usually record my screencasts with a screen resolution
    of 1280 x 720.

This gives me flexibility on how I then output the video
once I come to 'Produce and Share' it.

Thankyou Shaun - does this mean I have to re-record my video again? Or can I, somehow, make changes in either Camtasia or Youtube?
    Thankyou.

That depends upon what resolution you used to record
      your screencast.

Did you record at full screen? What screen resolution
did you use when you recorded the original?

I can vouch for Camtasia - great software and should certainly fit your need for video production.

As Shaun has said, you need to check your recording settings.

    Good luck!

Camtasia is great. As long as you recorded your video full screen you should be able to recover the clarity you're looking for.

There is a little bar at the top left of your video preview window in the software (it's in the bar directly above the preview). It will say something about a size and '100% scale' or 'shrink to fit'

Click on that and a drop down will appear, choose 'editing dimensions' at the bottom of the list.

When the box pops up, choose your new preset size or 'custom' and put in the dimensions you recorded the video.

    Good luck!

      Cool.

Your video is now crystal clear at my end.

By the way, here's a link to some useful Tutorials and
Documentation from TechSmith on how to get the most
      out their Camtasia Studio software:

IMO, text is too small on the video. No need to have your mug and logo on every slide. Just use this for the opening slide. Then drop it and make the text larger on screen.

For an easy solution, you can use screencastomatic.com to record and just use slides and click through them.

Make sure that the Video Codec being used in your recording with Camtasia is a good one. Many of the not so popular ones leave the quality somewhat pixelized from what I have found. While the compression rate may be better, the quality loss is not a good trade off.
