What can I do with this old domain?

PS - If you type in the domain it says the account has been suspended. It's because I just never did anything with it. I personally know the guy who used to host the site. There isn't anything fishy or illegal going on here -- I promise!

I would build a website related to your domain.
Generate some money as long as you can and sell it later on.
You should be getting more money that way.

Domain has had no site all this time which means:

1 No SEO or indexing in Google
2 No backlinking

Also there is a well indexed site called ibasics.biz which would be compeating with you for a search of 'ibasics'. Honestly I would take the couple hundred. This domain isnt worth any more than any domain.

I agree with brutecky, take the money and work on another project the fact that you haven't done anything with it up until now means you might never do anything with it so take the money while the offer still stands.

Add some IM related content, do a little bit of promotion and then list it on Flippa. You may end up getting a decent price.

Why not list it on Sedo and just let it sit there until it expires? I've done that in the past and had offers out of the blue for domains I'd just written off. I'm not talking hundreds, just sixty or seventy quid or so, but it's all money.

Offer the domain to ibasics.biz for whatever reasonable price they'll pay. They just might want the .com version - maybe tried for it but you already had it. Can't lose by trying.

Thanks everyone for all the feedback and suggestions. I am new to the warrior forum and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all the support I see on here. It's great to have people to brainstorm with.

I was thinking about developing the site and piggybacking off of the "i" thing, meaning I could teach basic tutorials around iphones, ipads, ipods, etc. (Hence the name 'ibasics.') I know there are a million sites like this already, but as I learn more about IM maybe I could put a unique spin on it. Any thoughts on this?

Id go with Joel Young and see if ibasics.biz wants to purchase it. You can do a whois on the domain ibasics.biz and get there contact info. See if there interested in it. If not put something on it. It costs nothing to put a WP site on it (if you all ready have hosting)

How am I changing my mind here? First I say that the domain is worth very little and they should take what ever offer she can get. Either from someone in general or from ibasics.biz. Then I say 'if not' as in if she can not get an offer quickly she should at least put something on it while she still has the domain and hosting. Perhaps Im not speaking well (or perhaps your not understanding well) but it seemed clear to me.

1) Sell it right now if you have an offer on it.
2) If you dont have a offer still standing offer it to ibasics.biz
3) If you dont have a standing offer AND ibasics.biz does not want it then at least put a WP site on it and some content (so that you can try to sell it just before it expires)

Sorry if I wasnt clear, I was giving her a plan not just a single step. Should be clear now though right?

With that old domain, either you can use it or you can sell it or you can park it. There are no other choices available for your old domain.

You could sell iProducts on it. Make a grid style layout with ipads, macbooks, phones, pods, etc. and accessories. That would be cool.

Either use it or sell it. The way I see it, it has got some value, both because the domain is so old and the domain name sounds good. Thanks to Apple the letter "i" is well known to people. The interesting thing you say is that you used it before Apple. Imagine if you had made the domain name a registered trademark, before Apple. I am sure you would have been paid a million by them for it.

Checked it in valuate.com and it comes back at $3.5k ... but obviously it is not accurate. The best is to list at various places like forums, flippa, sedo etc. and see what kind of offer turns up.
