How To Make A Viral Video?

I want to put together a short viral video. I think I can do it, I just have one question; what size pictures should I purchase. Fotolia has alot of pics I want to use, I just don't know what size to purchase.

Does anyone here have any experience in this?

Thanks!
Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

I'm not too good at this myself.

There is a WSO still available though that you might want to look over:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...r-reviews.html

It's an old offer, but still on going. I have no association with the vendor, but after testing it I bought it.

I'm not sure if it will help you with your particular requirements, but I thought that I ought to let you know about it.

    Best Regards,
    Jeff Henshaw.

Why do you think that using pictures in the video is boring Marty? If the storyline is good he can make it.

You may try this which is free for now stock.xchng - the leading free stock photography site also about the size, not too sure though, but you can try comparing with free images here first and then see how it goes.

You may also consider purchasing some stock videos as well just to spice things up

      Effective? Perhaps...

      Viral???

Be prepared to be extremely creative, entertaining, and produce with quality.

Slapping up a bunch of stock pics stitched together in Windows Movie Maker is probably not going to cause a pandemic...

Sure I suppose it's possible, but really when hear (read) someone say I am going to make a viral video, like you can pull one out of your top drawer, then everyone would be doing it.

To me there is a mystique about viral videos. I have made about 200 videos, most of which are on youtube and have been for a few years now, and it is still almost impossible to guess which one I release will be most popular.

I have some videos which I made when I first started that I truly think are horrible but STILL get me the most views and comments. Then I have others which I really put a lot of thought into them, thinking they will fly out of the gate, and no, it just doesn't happen.

From my experience, someone with the claim of making a viral video will be disappointed, and rotating pictures just sounds like a bust.

The creator of a video does not decide if a video goes viral, viewers who watch it decide that by taking time out of their personal lives to forward it to someone they know - because the just HAVE TO, since the video is so good, funny, entertaining, informative, wacky, daring etc.

        Thank you Marty

Great points, this is actually what I wanted to bring out from my question

I remember there was a slide show or so with just images that made some waves... it was something about time... what if you had 31556926.. etc
Can't remember how it went and couldn't just find it, but it did go around a lot.

However, videos are more expressive and they do have better impact.. but at the same time as you have just stated, viral videos become viral based on the viewers.. it may be today or in 5 years time.. something may just make it click.

Having said that, since we are in the age of videos, it will be best to go for trying videos over images, over all, you do have to be very creative, and lucky too, videos alone don't guarantee anything.

To actually answer your question - regular video like what you see on TV is 720 x 480 pixels (not HD or wide screen).

It will depend a little on the quality of the photos themselves, if you are planning any movement within the photos (ie zoom in on something specific) and the largest size you plan your video to display. Will also depend on what you are planning to use to edit the photos.

Give yourself an experiment first, and get some free stock photos to play with to see what happens when you use them. Take one big photo, save the file into several pixel sizes, and then plunk it into your editor and make a short movie. Take into consideration your monitor size and pixels as well when reviewing the movie back.

Some programs allow you to set the player size and this too can limit how your movie looks.

Go grab a "fat suit" from a halloween store.
Then put it on, along with a blond wig.
Go to the beach and start walking down it talking about "Mass Control".
While you're saying "Mass", grab your "fat suit" belly and shake it.

Then release it as a Frank Kern video.

I signed up for the FREE version, but I don't quite understand it. Don't you have to buy a domain of theirs or post the Video on their site or something unless you buy the full version for $149.00?
        Thanks

Also, I went to support or helpdesk and there is no place to ask a question that I could find, only video tutorials etc...

Wow you dug deep to find this one, anyway... I have offered some advice before about creative video content locally, so if you post some of the information on your business you may get some ideas here.
